Pinkfresh:Live More

Today we are showcasing Pinkfresh: Live More collection on the Paper Issues blog.  I love the fun color palette with this collection, it was perfect for spring break pool pics!

Close ups:
I sewed together the two pieces of the Live More paper  and the plus signs Journey paper for the background.  I adore the time the kids have with their dad when we are on vacation.  They love that he is giving them full attention for fun in the pool all.day.long!  We live by the mantra to "work hard" and then provide lots of "play hard" memories like this as a family!

I love the puffy heart stickers included in The Mix by Pinkfresh.  The colors weren't exact matches, but close enough to work for this design.  I covered the s after the word Laughter as it seemed odd to me to have it spelled that way.  This gave way into the sprinkling of hearts throughout the page.

Those copper alpha stickers are so easy to work with and flexible if you need to move them/line them up multiple times like I do!!  The ephemera die cuts have the same rose gold foil, it was a beautiful shine to add to the vacation page.

Take 5 Tuesday: April

Here's another awesome Paper Issues challenge to try out for April.  Check out Mary Ann Jenkin's Take 5 Tuesday prompts and join us with your creations on Facebook.
I used: 1. turquoise (background watercolors) 4. Patterned Paper  6.  number  7.  Two or more fonts 10. layers  11. wood veneer  12. cardstock

Here are a few detail pics:

My boy loves to jump and count down to jump again.  He can't get enough pool time ever!
I think the scallops worked well with the water/pool theme as a wave of sorts!
If you haven't used the scallop paper on a project you need to get it!  It was fun to fussy cut and stitch down a rainbow of layers.

I partnered Dear Lizzy chipboard Thickers with the rose gold to match the upper title from Paige Evan's Oh My Heart collection Thickers.  I used several wood veneer pieces from past Crate Paper lines.

I can't wait to see your Take 5 Tuesday!

Pedal/Petal to the Metal/Medal New Issue

I love Lisa's fun play on words and puns!  This month I interpreted the new issue at Paper Issues as Put the Petals to the Metal as I used florals and gold as an accent!  These florals from Crate Paper Heart Day were still in my stash and were begging to be cut apart for this new issue!

A few close ups:

I loved this Crate Paper Heart Day floral paper.  I fussy cut an entire sheet of florals for this page.  I wavy stitched over all of the layers of florals.  The center part of the cardstock was a mixed media green background I painted for this. It was layers of acrylic paint and splatters.

This pic of Brooklyn was snapped in West Palm Beach, FL over our spring break. It was nice to get some new pictures of the kids.  Also, I totally love the gold fabric stuffed hearts with the new Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.

I also used the Maggie Holmes gold Thickers that are hot pink foam on the bottom. These were perfect for my pink florals! See the subtle pink in the close up? Super fun pop of pink and gold!

Notable Quotable April

Today at Paper Issues we have the Notable Quotable challenge.  Michelle has a fun quote for you to interpret this month!  Go check it out and join us on Facebook as you get inspired!

I used this fave Sprinkle raindrop paper from Amy Tangerine's new On A Whim collection. I love the mix of patterns in the raindrops and the bold color it just pops off of the light blue paper.

I paired this fun paper with the PI cloudy circle cut file.  This was a great place to pop up my quote title and yet keep it from looking too busy!

I started this LO with each word being a different color of Thickers or alpha sticker that coordinated with the raindrop colors. However, in the end it looked too disjointed and I wanted it to flow more uniformly against the colorful background paper! I love the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams chipboard, the word happy worked well in the cloud.

Hawaii is such the perfect location to capture a rainbow. I love that this quote worked for gray skies leading to a beautiful rainbow.  Evan was there to enjoy the sights that day and it is great reminder for his album to always look on the bright side.

I can't wait to see how you are inspired by this month's quote or artwork for Notable Quotable.  Post your design in the Facebook group album so we can give you some love!

sketchy saturday: beautiful getaway

Today it's Sketchy Saturday at Paper Issues and it's no foolin'!  Grab the sketch and get creating!  Amy has a great multi-photo sketch to try out for April.

Image may contain: text

I played with Crate Paper Oasis and my spring break photos from West Palm Beach, Florida.  Love the sunset/moon is already out pictures!  Always happy to use chipboard frames for one of the photo spots!

Close ups of this project:

I added watercolors to the wave background paper with the packaging technique and stuck to sunset colors.

The beautiful chipboard for Oasis and gold script sticker words are so perfect for title work.

I love the little puffy stickers and 6 x12 stickers for embellishing and making clusters around the page.  Kind of in love with the tropical chipboard banner  and golden sunset chipboard sticker as well.

I really love the look of the watercolor, as it's a soft addition to the background, but adds just enough color to wake up that side of the layout from the gradient of color on the right side's paper. The gold embellishments and stickers add just enough sunshine to this travel layout.

Check out Crate Paper Oasis in the Paper Issues store along with so.much.more.  I love all of the new collections that are waiting for me to use this weekend!  Go add them to your cart and always save 20% off with my code: Stacie
