Swag Bag September: Today was the Best Day Ever

Swag Bag kit in the house! Go check out the newest kit in the Paper Issues store
and then check out the PI blog for inspiration on how to use the swag bag kits.
I used the newest swag bag for September and it was
perfection for this colorful shave ice pic from Hawaii last month.
I was inspired to make this background based on the Seek Rainbows patterned paper
I think you could totally cut the rainbow patterned paper into a circle for a similar look!

Here's how I started this layout-- gesso and a circle of rainbow watercolors using the packaging technique.  I just kept on layering shades of the colors until I had similar matches to the papers in the September swag bag kit. I added splatters of watercolors after I had stitched all of my circles and ephemera down.

The Shimelle Glitter Girl made a splash in this fun swag bag kit--see the fun lenticular camera ephemera--it says snap when you tilt the page! I love the speech bubble hello and all of the little circle faces paper with glasses.  I had so much fun punching circles from lots of the paper cards this month.

I love the title card also from Shimelle's Glitter Girl ephemera pack.  See the cute gummy bear paper circles--those are from the Happy Hooray collection by Pebbles. The glittery shooting star embellishment with little ribbons--totally adorable and you can get it from the Dear Lizzy Stargazer collection.

Happy Hooray puffy stickers are in the kit, see the balloon animal?
Also some ephemera is included from Pebbles Happy Hooray.
It all works so well together. After I stitched everything down, I added enamel dots for dimension and little circles to scatter in the ring.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Hello Beautiful: Hawaii

It's Sunday Funday! A perfect day to Scraplift at Paper Issues!
Go check out this week's inspiration on the PI blog and play along!
I was inspired by Wendy's use of the cut file and stitching around it.
The original had such a perfect mix of chipboard, stickers, and wood veneer pieces.
Cocoa Vanilla Studios Wild at Heart was what I was stashbusting
and was perfect for my take to document the beauty of Hawaii.

The Rosey Posey background cut file worked for layering the embellishments and having a edge to stitch around.

Cocoa Vanilla has the prettiest papers and especially watercolor style background paper.

Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to see what project you create for this scraplift!

Free File Friday: Super Star Soccer!

It's FriYAY! I am so excited to show you another week of Free File Friday and today we are releasing a new file called Having a Ball! Go check out more details on the Paper Issues blog!

I was excited to get to my niece's soccer game and snap some pics of her in action!  My kids are not soccer players so it's always fun to watch a new sport for a change!
I love how Paige Evan's new Turn the Page collection worked for her soccer pictures! Red and pink is  such a fresh color combo!

The red was definitely a fun color to scrap with. I think Turn the Page is a must have collection!
The embellishments (hello, stars!!) and mini paper pads are adorable!

Hello Super Hero Friends!

Today it's all about the glitter and rainbows on the Paper Issues blog.  We are showcasing new products that just bring the wow factor!  I focused on Shimelle's newest collection, Glitter Girl and using a PI cut file for the base of my layout.

The puffy glitter shaker stickers are a must! Look how it fits almost perfectly in the cut file opening! These shaker stickers are so cute and add so much fun and playfulness to a layout design. The wonky paper polka dots"Get Messy" make this background so much fun. I love the clean white paper as a base for the colorful dots and prints.

Glitter foam Thickers in teal!! Yes, please! Love the fonts and the mix of block print and cursive.

The rainbow ombre style polka dot paper is so pretty as a raised layer off of the mixed media background.

Ok, just one more close up! I love these fun colors and the variety of prints in the new Shimelle collection. The Pink Paislee Girl Squad thickers were a favorite and it's perfect down below the main title.
Have a gorgeous day! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Love this! Scrap Soup

Hello!  I played along with Mary Ann's Scrap Soup Challenge at Paper Issues.  Each month she gives you a recipe of what to use in your design. Check out the PI blog today with ideas on how to join in the fun.

I love using a Swag Bag kit from the Paper Issues store when I am scrapping away from home as it provides so many great coordinating pieces and papers to create something fun!
This was the July kit and it worked so well with my photo and sunset color scheme.
The big Amy Tangerine chipboard Thicker started the circle grouping and layers of polka dot papers.  I love adding chipboard elements like this to add height and instant titles or sayings! All the circles!

I layered a sun and the title piece from Fancy Pants Designs. The background close ups show water colors, acrylic paint, and Shimmerz.

I added machine stitching around the photo to add more texture and a cohesive border to my photo.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you try Mary Ann's Scrap Soup today and post your challenge entries online in the Paper Issues Facebook group.

Fall's Finest Moments

Today it's all about the circles for Try It Tuesday at Paper Issues
I wanted the look of coffee rings/coffee stains on a napkin for my background.
I dipped a circle cup into watered-down tan Mr. Huey's mist.

I used Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper.  I love her new Carousel line.
The colors worked with the fall feel I was going for.
The puffy Thicker phrases, chipboard pieces, and stickers all add details and dimension to the design.
I love the Kraft Chipboard Thickers for a page all about coffee and fall!

A close up at the "cup rings" for a coffee background minus the caffeine!  I added the Maggie Holmes Carousel woodgrain background paper edge to balance the brown touches. The gold plaid paper is a total fave. It just pops with fall tones!

Splatters and banners.  Coffee is totally worth celebrating in my book!
I wanted my stitching to stand out a bit more, so I kept in white thread, but added a bobbin of black thread which makes the stitch have just a point of color showing through.

Repeated colors and journaling to finish it off. Don't forget a bow!

Go grab Carousel in the shop and start creating some fun projects!
It doesn't have to just be used for fair pages or adventure parks with zoo animals!
Try out this month's Try It Out with a fun circle theme.
Post your new projects in Paper Issues Facebook group.
Get your shop on soon--new things have been arriving!!

Pinspire Me: Adventure Awaits

Hello!  Today on the Paper Issues blog you can catch the latest moodboard for Pinspire Me.
I was inspired by the globe and the saying Adventure Awaits along with the inspirational quote.

Image may contain: text

I played along with Fancy Pants Designs Dream Big.  It is a perfect collection to inspire and carry the sentiment I wanted to leave for my littlest. I love this scripty text  Daydream Believer paper. The light gray color works well as a muted background.

A few more looks:

I used texture paste and scraped black acrylic paint behind my photo. You can find the cut file title in the Free Files section of the Paper Issues store.

The Dream Big ephemera, puffy sticker phrases, and star stickers worked well with the colors in the fall photo.

Fall photos with golden light filtering in are some of my favorites!

I hope you are inspired (Pinspired!) to join us on the Facebook Paper Issues group to post your entries into this challenge and more! Don't forget to check out the free files section of the Paper Issues store for more cut files for your projects.

Free File Friday::First Day of Preschool

Hello!  It was my back to school week here in Minnesota, so this is all about getting those school related photos scrapped with a fun free PI cut file.  Check out the Paper Issues blog for more inspiration from the Design Team.
Here are a few close ups of the cut files I used (Love you to the Moon and Back - stars and the new School and Sports words cut file that's being released today.)
I used lots of Amy Tangerine Hustle & Heart from papers to stickers to tags and cut aparts.

The School and Sports cut file words were so helpful in spelling out the title. The Hustle and Heart clear sticker booklet always has things to use on each design.  Loved the pen and pencil stickers for this school design.
The coolest backpack from the Pebbles Girl Squad ephemera.  Stars cut file from the Love you to the Moon....

Amy Tangerine Hustle & Heart ephemera with gold foil and Fancy Pants tags from Family and Co.

Hustle and Heart layered chipboard stickers.  I love that I was able to reposition these layers to make the sticker work for my design.

Have a wonderful start to your weekend.  I hope you are inspired to play along and download some free Paper Issues cut files.  They are free--download as many as you need!

Don't Grow Up Today

Check out the rainbows that are showing up in the Working Title with Amanda today on the Paper Issues blog.

She is in middle school, but yet it makes my heart so happy when she wants to do things like make a stuffed animal with her younger brother! It's ok with me if they pause before growing up!!
I started with the mixed media background of pink watercolors with salt and acrylic splatters of white.  Doodlebug Fairy Tale stickers and enamel hearts to add more rainbow embellies.

Dear Lizzy phrase Thickers to add some multi-colored title pop to the photo!

A bit of wonky stitching on the edge and the Lawn Fawn rainbow plaids scream happiness!

Hope you have time to add a kick of rainbow in your title this month!
Add your rainbow colored title layout to the album in Facebook group: PIFF.
We can't wait to see your creative take!
