Swanky Swatches: Magical

Hello! Today I am up on the Paper Issues blog with a new layout based on this month's swatch colors!  I couldn’t wait to look through my holiday photos to find one to coordinate to the swatch and use the new Paper Issues December scrapbook kit "Hard Candy"!  I drew inspiration from the swatch colors as well as the wreath image!  Scroll to the end of this blog post for the December swatch!

The Lawn Fawn patterned paper trees are so much rainbow fun and a great option away from the typical green and red!  I love mixing the enamel dots in to further add colors to the design.

I layered the free PI cut file bud wreath, which included the inner circle to cut the Lawn Fawn patterned paper to size. Get out that thread and add messy strings as well as stitching to add texture.

The watercolored Kaisercraft ephemera pieces are so beautiful and mix right in with other collections.  I recommend stocking up on extra Kaisercraft items in the store before it's gone.
It is such a pretty holiday collection.
The December kit includes Pinkfresh wooden alpha stickers and they are the cutest!
The small size is perfect for smaller titles and using to layer just as I did on top of the photo.
I also layered the Magical title word on top of the photo and it is from the Joyful free cut file.

I wanted to remember this sweet story of a giving man
who noticed us at church Christmas Eve and
asked if we would enjoy a day at the nearby LegoLand since he works there.
He rounded up six tickets for us and it was a fabulous
95 degree day in LegoLand to end our holiday vacay in FL.
Some people are truly magical!!
I hope you will check out the December challenges

Celebrate 14

Hello!  It's all about celebrating today!  I absolutely adore this month's swag bag kit from Paper Issues and couldn't wait to create a fun birthday page with it.
April is my birthday month, so it's all about throwing the confetti around to whoop it up!
Evan my 14 year old may not love the colorful page design,
but I went with the inspiration from the candles on his birthday pie!
Here's my rainbow confetti birthday celebration:

Here's a look closer at the colorful details:
I printed out a large number 14 from my computer to layer the paper strips over.  I then flipped it over to cut using the dark outline of the numbers as my cutting guide.

Finished with the paper strips.  These are all from the 3x4 papers included in the April kit.
Plus, there are still several I didn't use in this design.
Gotta love a swag bag and the ability to use it for several projects!

Layout with the "confetti" splatter- Nuvo mists from the Paper Issues store, Heidi Swapp Shine from past swag bags, and Shimmerz mists.I loved the ephemera piece that said "happy" to tuck in above the yellow birthday paper.

I loved the puffy glitter ephemera from Shimelle's Glitter Girl collection.  It adds the perfect dimension in the vertical stack of paper layers.

The Pebbles Happy Hooray chipboard banner stickers worked
so well to create a banner across the entire middle of the design.

So that's my pop of colorful to start off your day.  I hope you are inspired to grab an April Swag Bag kit from the Paper Issues store and create your own "Party on a Page".

Life is Good

It's all about the perfect recipe to kick of a creative start in the new year! Scrap Soup is on the blog today at Paper Issues.

For this recipe, I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Bohemian Dream.  I loved the burst of color and thought a heart would be a good focal point for my photos of our catamaran snorkel cruise.

I used Shimmerz Blue Lagoon for the chipboard title stickers.  Those are my "three of the same embellishment" and one of the fonts.  The cut file is floral sweetheart and is in the free files at Paper Issues.

I also used three tabs-two on top of the photos and one for the date.  The chipboard hearts in a group of three across the design as well.

I used more than one font as seen here.  Yes, the acrylic paint drops were still not dry when I took the photos.  It's winter and daylight is fleeting!

I can't wait to see your take on Scrap Soup. I hope you are inspired to play along.  The more you post your work in our challenges--the more chances to win now through Feb. 4th.
Paper Issues has everything you need and with my code it's always on sale!

Fantastic Fun: San Antonio

It's time for Paper Issues August's Add it Up Challenge hosted by Michelle.  It is all about adding more and more until you hit the point totals.  This month the target is 110-120.  Here's my take using Amy Tangerine's Hustle and Heart collection paired with the brush stroke PI cut file. I got to a total of 115 points for this project. See the details on the PI blog.

Here's a closer look:
Do you need these little bitty bows?!  Yes, yes you do!  Get these adorable little babies in the store now!  I added splats of Shimmerz Inklingz in the "paint brush stroke strips".

I mixed foam Thicker alphas from On a Whim and Hustle + Heart.  I love the fun brush script font that make them interchangeable! I added hand stitching on the photo mats.  It easily adds more texture and dimension.

I love the striped water color paper "The Bright Side" in Hustle + Heart.  I first cut it apart in strips.  I measured the width of the stripe and enlarged the Brush Stroke background cut file to fit this paper.  Simply ungroup the cut file and enlarge the brush strokes you want to use.  Check out those Hustle + Heart puffy hearts.  They are perfect for sprinkling around a page.

Fill up your page and add it up!
I sure hope to see your take on this fun challenge!

Too Cool

Today on the PI blog Mary-Ann is wowing us with a new moodboard for August for Pinspire Me.  I love her fun boards.  It is always so easy to play along.
I was inspired by the movie clapperboard and the little boy with candy scattered around him.
No automatic alt text available.
I used Amy Tangerine Hustle + Heart for my take.  I welded the PI cut file letters and sunnies into my title for a fun take on my son's sunglasses obsession. I splattered Inklingz watercolors from Shimmerz throughout the background along with the packaging technique to mimic the Hustle + Heart paper I used for the title letters. I liked how it worked for the colors in the candy image.

Check out some of the fun details:
The PI free files include the open brush alpha which I welded with the sunglasses cut file from the summer cut file. I ungrouped the sunglasses cut file to lift off the lenses as I wanted just the background layer of the sunnies for my O's.

I love the ephemera that is part of the Hustle and Heart collection. It has a shiny layer and adds fun sayings and pops of color.

The Hustle + Heart  foam Thickers include shapes and this extra long arrow. The Amy Tangerine sticker booklet is so versatile with pages of clear sticker phrases, shapes--check out the multi colored and wonky shaped hearts I scattered.  The little red scallop sticker prompted me to doodle scallops on my journaling.

Get all of the awesome Amy Tangerine Hustle + Heart collection for 20% off in the Paper Issues store.  Cut files are always free! Grab them all and have fun playing around.  Alter them like I did  here to make them work for you!
Thanks for stopping by today, I can't wait to see how you are pinspired by the August moodboard. Play along now through September 3rd.

Summer Adventure

Today's new challenge at Paper Issues is hosted by Amanda and she is challenging us to work our title!  This month she wants us to use the word SUMMER in our title along with other words!  This was so much fun to look over my stash and the free cut files in the store to create a vertical and horizontal mix title.

A closer look at the mixed media using Shimmerz paints and the beautiful Fancy Pants summer collection, Hello Sunshine to go with my Caribbean cruise pic. The cut file words are found in two different cut file sets.

Loving the gold details on the Fancy Pants Hello Sunshine ephemera pieces.
