Fab You lous Today

Today it's all about the titles at Paper Issues.  Amanda set the challenge to use a banner in your title this month.
I love any reason to have to think of a title. I find that sometimes I am title-less lately and actually using a title as the design focus of a layout is quite fun! I think Fab-You-lous Today is fitting for this fun birthday layout.

I have hoarded this amazing woodgrain with grays and teals from the summer release by Pink Paislee Summer Lights. It was the perfect time to paint a Dear Lizzy chipboard word to match and pull in the Pebbles Happy Hooray text paper. It's pretty much tone on tone, but I love it with the black and white photos!

The Pink Paislee Summer Lights paper was also used in backing the banner.  It obviously was an easy choice as it complemented the background paper. The today title chipboard was painted using a gelato and watercolor mix to match the papers.

My husband's face by the third picture of Ryan attacking the candles--priceless. Oh, Ryan. Grab the free Paper Issues cut files.  This is a mix of fab you lous florals and the banner is from Merry Wishes.

We hope you'll play along! You have until February 4th to join the challenges at Paper Issues.

Tis the Season to Fa La La La

It's a new Working Title Challenge at Paper Issues.  Amanda is challenging us to use song lyrics in our titles this month.  I made it easy and used a free PI cut file  "Tis the Season" with holiday song lyrics on it.

I love that the cut file gives the design a starting shape and place to build the rest of the layout off of--it truly made this come together quite quickly when I pulled out all of my new Pinkfresh December Days collection!

I pulled out some older Pink Paislee Merry & Bright green paper to back the cut file letters.  I love that Pinkfresh and the Pink Paislee both coordinate with my son's winter hat.  He informed me he doesn't like hats like this anymore because some kid at school says it's babyish. *Sad face*

The puffy sticker stars are my fave!  I love how they popped this background paper! The red and gold alpha stickers were a fun way to add interest to the "snow" area of my photo!

I hope you'll join along with the Working Title challenge this month at Paper Issues.  Also, go check out the Paper Issues store!  40isBetter will save you 40% for the next few days!

Don't Grow Up Today

Check out the rainbows that are showing up in the Working Title with Amanda today on the Paper Issues blog.

She is in middle school, but yet it makes my heart so happy when she wants to do things like make a stuffed animal with her younger brother! It's ok with me if they pause before growing up!!
I started with the mixed media background of pink watercolors with salt and acrylic splatters of white.  Doodlebug Fairy Tale stickers and enamel hearts to add more rainbow embellies.

Dear Lizzy phrase Thickers to add some multi-colored title pop to the photo!

A bit of wonky stitching on the edge and the Lawn Fawn rainbow plaids scream happiness!

Hope you have time to add a kick of rainbow in your title this month!
Add your rainbow colored title layout to the album in Facebook group: PIFF.
We can't wait to see your creative take!

Summer Adventure

Today's new challenge at Paper Issues is hosted by Amanda and she is challenging us to work our title!  This month she wants us to use the word SUMMER in our title along with other words!  This was so much fun to look over my stash and the free cut files in the store to create a vertical and horizontal mix title.

A closer look at the mixed media using Shimmerz paints and the beautiful Fancy Pants summer collection, Hello Sunshine to go with my Caribbean cruise pic. The cut file words are found in two different cut file sets.

Loving the gold details on the Fancy Pants Hello Sunshine ephemera pieces.

One Little Word

We are all about the titles today to kick off June.  Just one little word.  Yes, one word to wrap up the sentiment of the entire layout.  Check out all of the takes on this idea on the Paper Issues blog hosted by Amanda-Jayne.  Here'e my layout using Cocoa Vanilla Studios Wild at Heart.  My little word is sweet.

The Cocoa Vanilla zig zag patterned paper was begging to be cut, so I chopped into it to create a layer to partner with the gray tone woodgrain. I love all of the fun chipboard stickers, cardstock stickers, and flair that I could add to the design without adding more words!  I stayed pretty true to Amanda's challenge!

A better view of my little word, sweet, on the corner of my photo.  'Sweet' because overall, life is pretty sweet when I pause and soak it all in.

Go check out the Paper Issues store for what's left of Cocoa Vanilla Studios' amazing lines and everything else that is in the shop waiting for you!  40% off sale for just a few more days!

Work that Title May: Riding the Waves

Working Title is up on the PI blog with Amanda and it is all about making your title be on the move--wavy, in a circle... you get the idea.  I went with waves for this picture from Ryan running into the ocean on Spring Break.

A few close ups to show the wavy, water details:

I stashbusted the Crate Paper Wonder collection stickers and ephemera.
I wanted a pop of coral with the teal and this CP collection worked well.
I added Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams chipboard pieces to the layers.
The Pebbles ombre Thickers are so beautiful to use on watery designs like this!
The teal watercolor paper is in the American Crafts' Hello Spring collection.

I love the little alphas from Elle's Studio.  I buy all of the colors so I have them on hand to coordinate with all of my projects and PL layouts.  The waves background cut file was so easy to work with to create an instant background. I used it as water, but another idea would be to use it like woodgrain.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find a fun way to make your title wrap around your page.

Work that Title

Today it is all about the Working Title at Paper Issues hosted by Amanda Baldwin.  She's got us all in the spring spirit with the challenge of decking out your title with beautiful florals. Flower Power that title!

I used Simple Stories Domestic Bliss collection with this pretty floral paper and lovely teal woodgrain plank paper.  I love the rustic feel which is perfect for our family photo along the wooded path.
