Scraplift Sunday-The Ocean is Calling

Hey friends!  I am back sharing this week's Scraplift Sunday on the Paper Issues blog.
We are lifting a super cool design by Devra (scroll to the bottom of this post.)
I love the challenge of keeping the design focus to the sides of the paper.

Here's my take:

I was drawn to the wooden background paper by Pink Paislee Summer Lights as the photo I chose had such a strong horizontal line of the ocean in these similar aqua hues.

Love using up paper scraps and the branding strips from papers whenever I can!  This scraplift showed one strip but, you can also stack them up and use up more papers or patterns!
Get out those mists or paint to splatter with this lift, too!
I added white acrylic paint to add to the weathered beach vibe!

This scraplift was absolutely perfect for stashbusting a collection you have sitting around with lots of bits & pieces.  I was able to use lots of the stickers, ephemera, and chipboard that was included with Summer Lights! The light makes several of the stickers shimmer an iridescent rainbow of colors.

Here's Devra's original project we are lifting for August Challenges at Paper Issues

I sure hope this motivates you to check it out and play along!
We love seeing all that you create each month!

Fab You lous Today

Today it's all about the titles at Paper Issues.  Amanda set the challenge to use a banner in your title this month.
I love any reason to have to think of a title. I find that sometimes I am title-less lately and actually using a title as the design focus of a layout is quite fun! I think Fab-You-lous Today is fitting for this fun birthday layout.

I have hoarded this amazing woodgrain with grays and teals from the summer release by Pink Paislee Summer Lights. It was the perfect time to paint a Dear Lizzy chipboard word to match and pull in the Pebbles Happy Hooray text paper. It's pretty much tone on tone, but I love it with the black and white photos!

The Pink Paislee Summer Lights paper was also used in backing the banner.  It obviously was an easy choice as it complemented the background paper. The today title chipboard was painted using a gelato and watercolor mix to match the papers.

My husband's face by the third picture of Ryan attacking the candles--priceless. Oh, Ryan. Grab the free Paper Issues cut files.  This is a mix of fab you lous florals and the banner is from Merry Wishes.

We hope you'll play along! You have until February 4th to join the challenges at Paper Issues.

Scraplift Sunday: H2O Fun

Today it's a super fun day to play!  Join us at Paper Issues for Scraplift Sunday!
Today we are lifting my multi-photo LO that I originally made for the Swag Bag Spotlight.
I mixed it up a bit and did layers of distressed/curled up strips of paper from the beautiful
Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection for the cool summer pics of the kids
playing with the sprinklers and slip n' slide.

The pink foam puffy holographic alpha Thickers add a fun element to this collection. Stickers and ephemera worked perfectly to layer and over lap on the paper strips.

Splashes of white acrylic paint, messy threads, and overlapping photos to create a triangle of watery elements to add movement to the layout.

The chipboard Thickers have the holographic shimmer to accentuate the water vibe in the photos.

Hope you are having a wonderful summery weekend.  I hope you are inspired to play along at Paper Issues and try this scraplift out!  It was fun to switch up from my original and take on a new look with similar elements!  Save 20% on Pink Paislee Summer Lights at PI with my code:

Take 5 July: Vacation Vibes

Happy 4th of July to those of you in the United States! We have a fun post up on the Paper Issues blog for the Take 5 Challenge.  Go check it out and be inspired to add 5 things from the prompts to your next project!
I used: 3. pink 4. stickers 8. layers 9. paint (pink on the cut file) 10. patterned paper 11. enamel dots 13. stitching.

I love the fun rainbow paper number 8 from Pink Paislee Summer Lights.  It was perfect for my daughter's colorful butterfly dress in Hawaii.

A few close up pictures to show details:

I used ephemera included in the PI travelers notebook kit. Alpha stickers from MME Palm Beach.

Pink Paislee Summer Lights was perfect for layers of frames, chipboard stickers, and papers.  Yes, I totally did messy stitching on the PI butterfly cut file.  I had painted multiple layers -yellows and then pink acrylic on the free PI cut file.

I added some of the stickers from Pebbles Sunshiny Day collection. I love the tropical vibes in that collection!

Don't forget to keep shopping the 50% off sale going on at Paper Issues now thru July 9th.  Grab all of the things that I used and more in the store!
