Smiles 4 Snowflake Season

It's time for a new Take 5 Tuesday at Paper Issues.  Mary Ann has a fun list of prompts to choose from for January.
Image may contain: text

I la la love Sweater Weather by American Crafts. It has bright and bold colors, but also ties in soft muted pastels to create some beautiful winter designs.

I love this font and the Paper Issues free cut file title using the winter weather words. It ties in the ephemera phrase and the words create a snowy cascade down the page.

I just want to hold on to these moments of our littlest before he is too big to be carried. No longer saying, "Do you want me to 'carry you up'?" as we have called it ever since our kids have been little. It's the little things I want to remember and cherish. The look of being content in his daddy's arms and the look of love back at me. The tassels on his cute winter hat.

I softened the look of the b & w photo with a layer of vellum. It gives that wintery white look that I was going for. Stickers, Thickers, and ephemera from Sweater Weather all made this design come together quickly.

For the Love of Family

Take 5 Tuesday is up on the blog at Paper Issues and I am documenting our recent family photos from October. I love the golden glow and this burst paper from Turn the Page by Pink Paislee and Paige Taylor Evans layered with flowers seemed like the perfect way to draw focus to our photo.
This month's prompts are fun with a winter twist, but I made it work! 3. white (acrylic paint drops) 7. patterned paper 9. journal 11. layers 12. sticker (alpha & florals)

The Dear Lizzy big chipboard title words are so much fun to customize.  I added gesso and two colors of gelatos to match some of the floral colors and the golden leaves color from my picture.

The Turn the Page sticker book had the mini floral alphas for my secondary title words. Most florals were from the ephemera packs and sticker booklets. I also fussy cut many to tuck into spots or add to the depth of layers.

I love the 6x6 paper pad for this collection as it had the mini prints with foil details. It was the perfect border for the main  family photo.

Thanks for taking a closer look at today's Take 5 Tuesday project.
I hope you'll play along this month.

Take 5: My Sun, My Moon, & Stars

Today it's all about Take 5 Tuesday on the blog at Paper Issues. Mary Ann has some great prompts for November.  Pick 5 and play along! This striped paper Paper 22 from Turn the Page by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee was begging to be used with the stars and rainbow painting.

Grab those 6x6 pads of paper and Thickers and hand cut letters or use your cutting machine to create your quote or title. I love the look of tone on tone patterns for subtle dimension and a title that isn't too distracting.

I started with the gesso and watercolors with a straw to get the splatter and drip look. Lift up some of the letters edges to create shadows.

The Turn the Page collection has a few papers that can be fussy cut along with sticker sheets or Thickers that have stars. I put on my fave movies or shows and cut the paper 12x12 and the 6x6 version to create the rainbow  of colors I needed to coordinate with the striped paper.  I added foam adhesive to pop up some of the layers, stars, and my photos.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your time picking at least 5 prompts to play along. Paper Issues has a big sale going on this week. Check the Facebook group or Instagram for more details.

Smile: Disney Aulani

It's all about Take 5 October today!  I love the fun prompt list and getting products out to use to meet the list that Mary Ann has posted each month. I used new Elle's Studio Family Fun for this project. The prompts I used: orange, blue, white, sticker, and enamel dots.

This striped paper is just bold and dreamy for background paper.  I loved matching up the ephemera shapes to overlap the color lines and swap the light to dark.
Tone on tone is a favorite design technique.
Puffy Stickers and enamel dots= instant dimension! Loving the white acrylic paint splatters to make the white stand out against all of the bold color.

I love this fun guitar, music themed paper from Pebbles Girl Squad.  It's perfect for a boy page just how you see that I used it.  It can rock the best of boys' themes, too!  How cute is his kid's meal served in a guitar?!
The gold foam Thickers are from the newest collections for Halloween called Spooktacular.  They are backed with black foam and I loved the contrast it provided!

The Amy Tangerine sticker book has a whole page of gold and colorful mini hearts.  Yes!  I love them to sprinkle on my pages!

Happy 4th of July to those of you in the United States! We have a fun post up on the Paper Issues blog for the Take 5 Challenge.  Go check it out and be inspired to add 5 things from the prompts to your next project!
I used: 3. pink 4. stickers 8. layers 9. paint (pink on the cut file) 10. patterned paper 11. enamel dots 13. stitching.

I love the fun rainbow paper number 8 from Pink Paislee Summer Lights.  It was perfect for my daughter's colorful butterfly dress in Hawaii.

A few close up pictures to show details:

I used ephemera included in the PI travelers notebook kit. Alpha stickers from MME Palm Beach.

Pink Paislee Summer Lights was perfect for layers of frames, chipboard stickers, and papers.  Yes, I totally did messy stitching on the PI butterfly cut file.  I had painted multiple layers -yellows and then pink acrylic on the free PI cut file.

I added some of the stickers from Pebbles Sunshiny Day collection. I love the tropical vibes in that collection!

Take 5 Tuesday: April

Here's another awesome Paper Issues challenge to try out for April.  Check out Mary Ann Jenkin's Take 5 Tuesday prompts and join us with your creations on Facebook.
I used: 1. turquoise (background watercolors) 4. Patterned Paper  6.  number  7.  Two or more fonts 10. layers  11. wood veneer  12. cardstock

Here are a few detail pics:

My boy loves to jump and count down to jump again.  He can't get enough pool time ever!
I think the scallops worked well with the water/pool theme as a wave of sorts!
If you haven't used the scallop paper on a project you need to get it!  It was fun to fussy cut and stitch down a rainbow of layers.

I partnered Dear Lizzy chipboard Thickers with the rose gold to match the upper title from Paige Evan's Oh My Heart collection Thickers.  I used several wood veneer pieces from past Crate Paper lines.

I can't wait to see your Take 5 Tuesday!

Take 5 Tuesday: Love & Live Today

It's such a fun challenge day!  Take 5 Tuesday is on the Paper Issues Blog.
I am always inspired to play along with Mary Ann's list of options for the month.
Here's what you can choose from for March:

Image may contain: text

Here's my take:  I used 4. cardstock, 6. stickers from Dear Lizzy, 10. patterned paper from Dear Lizzy Lovely Day, 11. flowers, 13. stripes, and 15. a title with three words.

It's all about baseball season which is right around the corner.  This pic is the two of us at a Twins game this past summer.  So much love for date day at the stadium!

Baseball season LOVE!  I took this picture of us on the angle as I wanted to capture the row of flags out in center field.  I love the rose gold foil that is scattered throughout this collection
The ephemera pack has bits that are perfect for so many projects.
The Tag You're It patterned paper made for a great layering paper.

;

I love layering the ephemera and 6x12 stickers with foam to create dimension and shadows.

More of a close up on the diagonal design and the clusters of embellies that framed the photo.

Take 5 Tuesday: February Edition

It's one of my fave days to play along with at Paper Issues! Take 5 Tuesday on the PI Blog is back with all new prompts to kick start your design!
Here's my take using Crate Paper Heart Day.
I went with these items off of the list: 4. paper clip 5. stitching 6. heart 10. cardstock 11. xoxo 13. arrow
I used a PI free cut file as my background and added hand stitching to the solid hearts on this beautiful striped paper.

Crate Paper's Heart Day fringe paper always begs to be fringe cut at the bottom edge!  Layers of torn tissue paper and paper under my photo collage.  Chipboard pieces to add depth and draw the eye around the page away from the black cardstock..  Pops of gold from the fringe stickers, chipboard and acetate pieces for layering.  Loving the look of the white stitching on the hearts.

\
Layers of paper and chipboard around the photo collage of my older three and their photos for their dad's valentine photo gift for his office.

I can't believe these pictures are 7 years old already!  Time flies when you are not watching the minutes tick by!  The brush script chipboard XOXO pieces are so much fun.  I hope you bought all of the Heart Day things earlier in the season!

Have so much fun playing along with Take 5 Tuesday!  We can't wait to see what you create with the list of prompts!
SO much to love...  Just sayin' and yes, you need it!  Save 20% with code: Stacie

Here's what I picked from the December list:
  1. Blue 2. White 10. mist/paint 12. Alpha Stickers 13. stickers I used the new Carta Bella Space Academy.

I love the thickness of the paper and how both sides of the paper have fun patterns or text about space!  This journaling cards paper worked fabulous with the free cut file.  I love how it looks like it's bursting right out of the sky!

I used Elle's Studio alpha stickers for my long title.   I used lots of Space Academy ephemera and stickers for my dimension and space details.  I cut the cut file out of this spectacular paper.
