Scraplift Sunday: Hello Beautiful Life

Today we are back at it with a fun Scraplift Sunday featuring my water-inspired scallop LO of Ryan on spring break!

I lifted my design and went for a white on white scallop using the new Mother's Day free cut file scallop.  I stitched it down in rainbow order similar to my original LO and added embellishments from my stash and Shimelle's Little by Little to bring pops of color throughout the design.
Ryan was so happy to be egg hunting and I sure adore his sweet shadow in the photo!

A few close ups:
Each scallop cut file was stitched in a different color of the rainbow.  I matched ephemera and little bits from Shimelle's Little by Little, Elle's Studio Live Laugh Love collection, and Paige Evans' Fancy Free collection.

I am loving the white on white elements on this page!

The scallop cut file will be in the Paper Issues free files today for Mother's Day.

Enjoy your weekend.  Happy Mother's Day!  I hope you can play along with the scraplift this month!  Post your creation in Paper Issues Friends and Fans group Scraplift Sunday thread.

Pinspire Me:You Spin Me

Today there's a new Pinspire mood board at Paper Issues on the blog.  I love the bright and colorful options this month from Mary-Ann!
No automatic alt text available.

I was inspired by the swirled lollipop, pink color in the cactus photo, the modern alpha, and the round yellow puff!  Here's what that looks like in my project:

Fun, huh?!  I wanted it to be playful and lighthearted to capture the feelings of being in the Midway section of the State Fair.  The kids love going on the rides and winning games (which is why the little creatures are also fitting....stuffed animals always end up joining us!)
The lollipop swirl inspo came from the Shimelle patterned paper circle of segments and I added the white swirl being a free PI cut file the polka dot wreath.  Love how you can stick little bits in the circles, too.  I added lots of itty bitty puffy stickers from Little By Little!

The Amy Tangerine Thickers from Oh Happy Life have been waiting for me to use them and this mood board was the perfect reason to!  They go right with the alpha style and they matched Shimelle's Little by Little Carousel Dreams paper almost perfectly! Winning at stashbusting when that happens!

I hope you start creating with the inspiring Pinspire Me mood board today!  So many creative ways to interpret the moodboard.
If you haven't checked out the Paper Issues online store, stop by today and look at all of the new collections in stock!  As always, if you use code: Stacie at checkout you'll save 20%.

Cut It Up March

This month is all about lucky stars!  Check out the PI Blog for the inspiration for Starry background.
No automatic alt text available.
I was inspired to create this background after looking at my stars loading into my Starbucks app.  Creative vibes can strike even when all you have is coffee on the brain!

I went with Shimelle's Little By Little collection to add to the starry vibe!  I love when I can create a messy mixed media background for my nighttime sky and build the layers above it.  The title has openings making it perfect for papers or mixed media to peek through.

I originally thought of cutting the file into rectangles and having parts of the file be near the right and left edges.  In the end, I went with the triangles to bring out the pointy star design and help accentuate my photo.  Messy packaging technique and splatters added to the mixed media layers of colors added over the gesso.

I used some of the single stars included in the title cut file section, to pop up with foam adhesive and layered puffy stickers above that.  The Little By Little foam phrase Thickers include many stars which are perfect for using in the title or scattered over the cut file.  I added teal stitching over the cut file border to add texture and color.

My journaling totally went wonky over the gesso and bumpy surface on the cardstock/mixed media.  I am ok with it not being my fanciest writing.  It is a quick message to my son telling him how he was the ultimate snuggle bug of all of his siblings.

Head over to the Paper Issues free files section to get this month's file and download the others you need.  I like to cut the files in bulk, so when I get the chance to scrap things are all ready for me!

Tag Paper Issues on social media so we can send some love your way.  I love seeing your creative uses for the cut files.  Link your PI cut file projects to the Cut It Up Facebook album.  It is fun to see how you are able to use these free cut files.  Try making a card, pocket page or layout, super size one star and stitch around it.  Use the offset button to create a border around a single star.

See you all online next weekend for the Spring Crop March 17-19th.

Little by Little: Shimelle

Today on the Paper Issues blog, we are spotlighting Shimelle's new collection Little by Little.  I loved the mix of brights and pastels for a fun and playful layout about my son wearing his crown pretending he was the king.

I loved the details on this B side of the feather paper for my background. I wanted to fussy cut the triangles from this Higgledy Piggledy paper into bunting/banners and the diagonal lines make a perfect spot to place them.

The papers work so well together and the colors pop from the matching collection embellishments! The mini polka dots that are on the papers are picked up in the wooden button embellies and on the alpha Thickers.  I love the polka dots on the Magic tag!  The foam phrase Thickers are so versatile and come in black and white!

I hope you'll try cutting up the triangle paper or another pattern in Shimelle's gorgeous collection. There are so many papers that are perfect for some fussy cutting action!  I love to do projects like that while I am watching a tv show!

One more peek!  I love dimension and the shadows it creates on my pages.

Have an amazing day! Thanks so much for stopping by.
I hope you get out your Shimelle collection and start cutting into it to create something fun!

If you need Shimelle's new collection, Little by Little, check it out in the store and grab it all.  The colors and patterns make this a perfect spring addition to your projects!
