Free File Friday: Stars

July is here and it is all about the stars for Paper Issues Free File Friday.  It's fun to see how many different cut files are offered in the store that incorporate stars.  Check out the PI blog for more inspiration from the design team!

I used Pink Paislee Sweet Freedom for my son's football LO.  I love how the blue ombre paper looks behind the cut file. I layered the star stitching background and used the starring you cut file over Evan's photo.

I hope you'll play along at Paper Issues with any of the star cut files between now and Aug 1. Here are just a few of them.

Scraplift Sunday: Hello Beautiful Life

Today we are back at it with a fun Scraplift Sunday featuring my water-inspired scallop LO of Ryan on spring break!

I lifted my design and went for a white on white scallop using the new Mother's Day free cut file scallop.  I stitched it down in rainbow order similar to my original LO and added embellishments from my stash and Shimelle's Little by Little to bring pops of color throughout the design.
Ryan was so happy to be egg hunting and I sure adore his sweet shadow in the photo!

A few close ups:
Each scallop cut file was stitched in a different color of the rainbow.  I matched ephemera and little bits from Shimelle's Little by Little, Elle's Studio Live Laugh Love collection, and Paige Evans' Fancy Free collection.

I am loving the white on white elements on this page!

The scallop cut file will be in the Paper Issues free files today for Mother's Day.

Enjoy your weekend.  Happy Mother's Day!  I hope you can play along with the scraplift this month!  Post your creation in Paper Issues Friends and Fans group Scraplift Sunday thread.

Cut It Up January

It is another round of Cut It Up for Paper Issues!  I hope you have been playing around with your cutting machines and that you are ready for some new cut files to try out!

This month we have the New Year's theme going on!  It also is perfect for album title pages, a year in review page, New Year's Eve parties, a family photo, or supersize the snowflakes or heart to create a totally different vibe!
I used the 2016 to document our family photo session from October.  It is always our mission to capture the colors of the season and hope to get one to work for our Christmas cards.
I used Hazelwood and it worked so well to pop up the cut file frame up and off the background with foam dots and add the patterned paper, floral stickers, and I fussy cut out a few more florals to add more depth.
A few close ups of the gorgeous Hazelwood:

Those swoon worthy gold and mint foam Thickers!!  I love them!  See the cutest Hazelwood heart stamp?!  You need those adorable alpha stamps and icons!  I love the pops of coral with this collection and had the perfect thread color to coordinate.

All of the gold in the Hazelwood collection works so well with my golden fall photos from October.

Here's another LO I made this month using the Cut It Up January cut file title.  I hand stitched the title and popped it up with foam dots. It made this countdown come to life!  Loved the bright fun collection from Simple Stories.  Also, check out the cutest flair from PI's Cassie!

Thanks for checking out the cut files in action up close.  I hope you'll play along and link up your projects to PI's Facebook album.  You have through Feb 5th to play along for a chance a winning PI giftcard.

Photo Play Snowball Fight

Today we are showcasing the fun Photo Play collections on the Paper Issues blog.  The newest lines are so full of color and fun prints!  I went with Snowball Fight for my layout today.  The green color is beautiful to work with and it's close to the new Pantone color of the year for design!  Also, grab this free cut file from Paper Issues.  It is great for snowy pictures or so many other ideas as shown on the Cut It Up challenge this month.

I chose Snowball Fight for this fun winter memory of my daughter just wanting enough snow to build a snowman.  Instead, there wasn't enough so we snapped pictures and she headed out to play on the pond.  Isn't life always about the photo op?

Here are some close ups:
I used vellum and some pop dots to lift the picture off of the patterned paper and messy circles free cut file background.  It gives it a softer edge and makes it feel like the snow is carried right off of the picture. Also, hello punny stickers from Photo Play!

I wanted a bit of color on the white background cut file, so I scattered blue watercolor splatters all over it to coordinate with the snowmen paper peeking through the openings.

I love watercolor droplets and enamel dots/puffy stickers.  These are from Fancy Pants Designs and they coordinate so well with Photo Play!

I hope you stocked up during the last few sales and have Photo Play in your stash to create with this winter!  This collection makes winter and snow pictures come to life with all of the bright colors!

Thanks so much for looking!  I hope you are having an amazing week.

Believe

We are all about Merry and Bright today as we focus on Fancy Pants Designs new holiday collection.  Check out the Paper Issues blog for so much more inspiration!

I love the trees free cut file in the Paper Issues shop and backed them with 6x6 papers from Merry & Bright.

I love the Believe acrylic piece!  I love how perfect(and funny!) my photo of Santa looks for my littlest guy's first visit!  He was quite serious!!

I added the diecut pieces from the ephemera pack to anchor my merry christmas frame cut file and add depth behind the trees!  How cute is that reindeer flying up to Santa!?

I cut the frame and Merry Christmas twice as the first patterned paper matched too much to the background.  I glued the second layer right over the first one and I love the dimension it provided!

All of the gold foil accents are beautiful!  I loved sprinkling them throughout the page.  The die cut trees are popped up with foam dots to layer them above the die cuts by Fancy Pants.
