Snow Day

I love Mary-Ann's mood boards and this month at Paper Issues is a new one to inspire! Today it's all about being Pinspired on the Paper Issues blog.

No automatic alt text available.

I love the snowy background!  I was inspired by the reds and light blues, obvi the snow, too!
I went with a new cut file for Paper Issues in the Free Files for my background.

Here's how the cut file snow grid background looked backed in Sweater Weather paper and stitched. I added the positive snowflake pieces in the openings.  I had to add snowflakes to go along with the mood board snowy images.

I added lots of Sweater Weather ephemera and chipboard from CP FaLaLa. The flair was from Fancy Pants holiday collection from last year.
I loved the soft blues in the moodboard and backed the snowflakes to mimic this element.

I love my little Kylo Ren-  he's such a Star Wars loving kiddo. I embraced the red and made that the "pop of" color for this design. Just a sprinkling of red just like the mood board images.

I hope you will play along at Paper Issues and create something sparked from this awesome mood board.  You have now through February 4th to submit your projects.  Simply add them to the posts on Facebook.

Pinspire Me: November

It's time to be Pinspired!  We are up on the Paper Issues blog with a new moodboard thanks to the talented Mary-Ann. Take a peek:

I was inspired by all of the leaves and the golden yellow colored leaves in the upper left, the blue around the turkey eye, and the sentiment of thankful. Dear Lizzy florals were the perfect match with my photo of my family. I also added the layer of mint green to match the leaves and the bold mustard gold stripe paper.

Image may contain: 6 people, people smiling

The copper metallic chipboard Thickers worked so well to scatter throughout.

I love how the mixed media turned out on the base layer. I added lots and covered up most of it. It still looks fun peeking out from under the flowers.

Dear Lizzy flair just had to be used as another pop of metallic . I also love the Maggie Holmes Carousel gold puffy sticker word phrase for the title.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pinspire Me: May

Mary-Ann has kicked off May with such an amazing mood board.  Go check out Paper Issues blog and see what inspires you to create!
I was so into the blues, the colors in the giraffes, and the eggs!  Here's my littlest with his chicken/rooster obsession.  We visited my friend's chicken coop and he was all in!

Here are a few details:

I used Cute Girl and Cool Kid from Crate Paper for my Title Brave & Cute, as well as the Best Kid chipboard piece.  Nearly everything else I used on the LO is Bella Blvd.

This flair from The Crafty Pocket coordinated with the colors, so I had to add that with messy thread. Also, how cute is this adorable background paper that is the bonus design in the Bella Blvd Barnyard collection pack.

I mixed in a few Bella Blvd collections for the arrows, clouds, and hearts.

I hope you are pinspired by this month's gorgeous mood board.  I love the fun images Mary-Ann finds each month!
Play along and post your project on the challenge thread in PIFF Facebook group.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a magical Monday!

Pinspire Me: March

The Paper Issues Mood Boards for PInspire Me by Mary-Ann always get me inspired to get a project done!  Check out the PI blog today for tons of inspo!
I was inspired by the greens, palms, and painting image!

For my take, I used Amy Tangerine On A Whim.  I love the bright colors and pops of orange.

I got messy with gesso and paint.

Layers and texture for this one!

Love the AT On A Whim details around the photo.

Amy Tangerine On A Whim watercolor resist tags are so much fun to make and then add to your projects.

I hope you are inspired to go for the green or get inspired by so many other possibilities on the mood board!

Give me all the colors

I was so inspired by the colors in the August mood board at Paper Issues. The PInspired images that prompted this were the camper lines and colors in the roller skates/sky.
The new Pink Paislee collection by Paige Evans in my order from Paper Issues got me chopping strips of the painted stripes paper 4 and fringe scissor cutting them. It was easy and harmless!
I added the Crate Paper Thickers (the pink version would also be cute!) to the lower corner to bring the eye down to the bottom of the fringe rainbow.
I used the Take Me Away collection word Thickers, thread, stickers, and enamel hearts from Illustated Faith to the cluster areas. I also used the fun polka dots from Fancy Free paper 4.
I fussy cut the scroll quote from a page of quotes paper #24. It fit well with the Old San Juan, Puerto Rico colorful buildings picture from my June vacation. I hope you give fringe cutting a try on a page or on embellishments!
Also, I found out that fringe scissors aren't liked by airport screening machines or the TSA! The guy was intrigued and almost practiced cutting with them. He let me keep them; I told him I was a teacher prepping for the new school year! I guess I better fringe up something fun for my classroom now!! Have a crafty and fun weekend!

Happiness

For the Fall crop at PI, they had a mood board challenge.  The mint, gray, and gold popped out at me as a great starting point for this layout.  The children posed for pictures this autumn and they make us so filled with love and happiness!  It was easy to find a title to connect to my kiddos! I layered several papers and textures to the Pink Paislee Memorandum paper border.  I love the minty/aqua acrylic frame tucked under the photo. I added the tag, flair, and gold splats of paint to complete this page.

You are Here in my Heart Always

I was inspired scrolling through Instagram by all of the posts linking to Jot Magazine's February mood board. Using black and white stripes, red, pink, and mint. I also sewed the stack of hearts as pictured in the mood board. I love the pop of dimension it adds to the page.

I also was inspired by Paper Issues Sketchy Saturday post as it used a circle element and stacked journaling.
I sewed the large circle in black thread multiple times for texture. I then watercolored the area to make the die cut title pop.
I blended watercolors and used some spray ink in a shimmery mint color.

For fun, here's the same picture enlarged and in color from our summer day trip to Minnehaha Falls in MN.
We had a random nice person take our photo. It was a bummer to look at them later to see the falls are only a slight splash on the right side!  Good times!
