Notable Quotable: Together Hooray!

It's time to be inspired by Michelle's quote pick of the month. Check out the Paper Issues blog today for all of the details! I love this month's print from the talented Amy Tangerine.  The rainbow colors and her script writing made this layout come together in a flash.
Image may contain: text
I used her new On A Whim collection and I love how the daisy cut file made the patterned paper pop against the bold pink!
I used the daisy frame cut file to be my photo border.  I love the Amy Tangerine half circle felt embellishments.  They add another texture, dimension, and color to a project. I love how these worked out perfectly for the flower centers.  My next new item added to the collecion are the enamel pin stickers. The camera was the perfect embellishment for my cousin and I, as we tried to snap so many selfies.

The paper clip flower has to be my favorite paper design.  I love how it looks on petals. Splatters of watered down acrylic paint finished it off! All the colors and patterns add to the quote vibe by Amy Tangerine. Speaking of Amy--did you see Cassie is offering 50% all of Amy Tangerine products that are in the shop. Code at checkout: AMY use code before Sunday!

We hope you will join us in the PIFF group and submit your CROP challenges before Friday/Sat.
This project gets linked in the Notable Quotable November gallery.

Love this! Scrap Soup

Hello!  I played along with Mary Ann's Scrap Soup Challenge at Paper Issues.  Each month she gives you a recipe of what to use in your design. Check out the PI blog today with ideas on how to join in the fun.

I love using a Swag Bag kit from the Paper Issues store when I am scrapping away from home as it provides so many great coordinating pieces and papers to create something fun!
This was the July kit and it worked so well with my photo and sunset color scheme.
The big Amy Tangerine chipboard Thicker started the circle grouping and layers of polka dot papers.  I love adding chipboard elements like this to add height and instant titles or sayings! All the circles!

I layered a sun and the title piece from Fancy Pants Designs. The background close ups show water colors, acrylic paint, and Shimmerz.

I added machine stitching around the photo to add more texture and a cohesive border to my photo.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you try Mary Ann's Scrap Soup today and post your challenge entries online in the Paper Issues Facebook group.

Try It Tuesday: Washi Tape

Happy August!  We are back with a new month full of challenges to try out. Check out the PI blog--Try It Tuesday is all about fun ways to use washi tape to add texture to your projects!  I had so much fun using my neglected washi tape on this challenge!

A few close ups of the torn washi and stitching with mixed media.
I love the Amy Tangerine On A Whim collection washi tape that had multiple tapes included.  It worked perfectly to match with the colorful paper and the mixed media water colors and gelatos I used.

I popped up the Paper Issues free files title that I used.  I also cut out the You Fill my heart full of Love  cut file for all of the hearts in the border. The AT chipboard Thickers were the perfect addition under my title.

Clear stickers are the perfect addition to photos or background paper. Find some of AT On A Whim and her new collection: Hustle and Heart in the store.

Have a wonderful first day of August!  Summer is scooting by too quickly.  I hope you will join us on the new challenges that pop up throughout the month. This one is a definite must.  Washi is always a good idea to play with!

Free File Friday: Summer Vibes

We love cutting out files on Fridays!  Even better when they are FREE files to use from Paper Issues.  Check out our spotlight today on everything with a summer vibe.  So.many.ideas! Go check out the blog at Paper Issues for awesome summer page ideas.
I was at the lake when I worked on this project, so I naturally grabbed the whitecaps on the lake background.

I added Pebbles Sunshiny Day, Amy Tangerine On A Whim, Bella Blvd Secrets of the Sea, and gold title words from Crate's Oasis line.

I added machine stitching for the waves in the openings of the cut file for a white on white effect. Grab the AT On A Whim water color resist tags,  as they are so much fun to customize!

I used the Magical cut file word "smile" to add a wavy word and layer to the photo.

Thanks for checking out the up close details on my FFF cut file layout.  I hope you play along with this challenge and post your creations in the Facebook June FFF album.
Tag PI online so we can ooh and aaah over your amazing work with the cut files.

Notable Quotable April

Today at Paper Issues we have the Notable Quotable challenge.  Michelle has a fun quote for you to interpret this month!  Go check it out and join us on Facebook as you get inspired!

I used this fave Sprinkle raindrop paper from Amy Tangerine's new On A Whim collection. I love the mix of patterns in the raindrops and the bold color it just pops off of the light blue paper.

I paired this fun paper with the PI cloudy circle cut file.  This was a great place to pop up my quote title and yet keep it from looking too busy!

I started this LO with each word being a different color of Thickers or alpha sticker that coordinated with the raindrop colors. However, in the end it looked too disjointed and I wanted it to flow more uniformly against the colorful background paper! I love the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams chipboard, the word happy worked well in the cloud.

Hawaii is such the perfect location to capture a rainbow. I love that this quote worked for gray skies leading to a beautiful rainbow.  Evan was there to enjoy the sights that day and it is great reminder for his album to always look on the bright side.

I can't wait to see how you are inspired by this month's quote or artwork for Notable Quotable.  Post your design in the Facebook group album so we can give you some love!

Roll the Dice March

Today it's Roll the Dice with Rachel on the Paper Issues blog.  This month her boys rolled a 3 for washi and a 2 for number of photos.  I am always up for a washi challenge as I love to collect it and hardly ever use it.
I used new pictures from last week's Spring Break.  I love having new photos to scrap with!  I bought the new pack of Amy Tangerine On a Whim washi tape, so that was easy to decide on what collection I would be using!

My children love the ocean. They adore running in and out and squeal in delight as the waves catch up to them as they are running away!  Since we live so much farther away from the ocean, I am always on a mission to capture them when we are on vacay!

And this guy.  Yeah, he's an awesome 5 year old now.  Amy Tangerine tropical bliss right here.  It was fun to layer up her patterned papers from On A Whim and use chipboard LOL Thickers and stickers from the sticker booklet and 6x12 stickers from the collection.

A few closer looks.

These watercolor resist tags are such a fun thing to play with.  I love to see the image come to life after painting the tag!

Mix It Up Monday: March

Hello and Happy Monday!  It is back to work after a week of Spring Break and it sure inspired me to get out some summer pictures!  Today is Mix It Up Monday on the Paper Issues blog.  The challenge for March is to use texture on your page with mixed media.  I opted for texture paste and I loved how Heidi Swapp's pink metallic texture paste was the perfect match for Amy Tangerine's On a Whim pink foil stickers and ephemera!

Layers of On A Whim patterned papers and my fave Amy Tangerine foam phrases Thickers from a past collection.  I started with gesso, then added the texture paste in a circle over the Heidi Swapp stencil.   I overlapped spots to create more texture and pattern.  When that dried at used the packaging technique with watercolors splatters in greens, blues, and lastly the pinks.

I love the pink foil ephemera and stickers.  They really accentuated my picture with my bright pink sweater.  It was documenting an amazing dinner by the river in historic Stillwater, MN.  In the lower part of the layout you can see the tear-away strips from three On A Whim papers which I added stitching to each one.

Thanks for taking a peek today,  I hope your week is off to a grand start.  Here's to hoping Spring is truly around the corner and that here in MN that means this new snow melts quickly!

Don't forget about the online Spring Crop with PI in the Facebook group this week Friday-Sunday.  We can't wait for you to see all of the challenges and join us online!

Pinspire Me: March

The Paper Issues Mood Boards for PInspire Me by Mary-Ann always get me inspired to get a project done!  Check out the PI blog today for tons of inspo!
I was inspired by the greens, palms, and painting image!

For my take, I used Amy Tangerine On A Whim.  I love the bright colors and pops of orange.

I got messy with gesso and paint.

Layers and texture for this one!

Love the AT On A Whim details around the photo.

Amy Tangerine On A Whim watercolor resist tags are so much fun to make and then add to your projects.

I hope you are inspired to go for the green or get inspired by so many other possibilities on the mood board!

Love the Life You Live

Today we reveal the new quote of the month for the Notable Quotable challenge at Paper Issues. Love this quote and knew I had to bust out the older collection by Amy Tangerine that had this quote on the PL card set.  I mixed this with new Amy Tangerine's On A Whim.  The background is by Simple Stories that I had made in advance with extra acrylic paint I had mixed up.
Here are a few close ups-- I started with the painted background and then carried the color into the gold embossed watercolor tag from Amy Tangerine's On a Whim collection. Also check out the washi!

The quote card was hoarded and in my stash from Amy's Plus One collection. It got s fresh look with the clear gold stickers on it!

The Do Your Thing sticker was easy to tie into the design by matting it on patterned papers.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are super inspired to use the quote Michelle
selected for the month!

Pinspire Me February

Mary-Ann has another gorgeous mood board ready to PInspire you!  Check out the Paper Issues blog for more amazing inspiration from the design team.

No automatic alt text available.

I was so inspired by the center image of the donut and all of the pops of bright pink.
I used an exclusive cut file for Paper Issues for the donut in the top corner (Build a Donut file) and my title word is coming soon to the PI free files.

These puffy donut Thickers for Amy Tangerine's On a Whim are so much fun.  I LOVE the cuteness they bring!  The watercolor resist tags are always a fave.  I love the look that they add.  I super love how the title turned out.  The cut file for Love is one that is appearing in another week in the PI free files section of the store!

The pink foil touches added to the ephemera and 6 x12 stickers in this collection are so much fun.  I love the sparkle they add!

I hope you are drooling over that sweet moodboard and ready to make a project!  We can't wait to see what you make.  Be sure to tag us on social media or post your project in theFB  Paper Issues Friends and Fans group!
