Try It Tuesday: Washi Tape

Happy August!  We are back with a new month full of challenges to try out. Check out the PI blog--Try It Tuesday is all about fun ways to use washi tape to add texture to your projects!  I had so much fun using my neglected washi tape on this challenge!

A few close ups of the torn washi and stitching with mixed media.
I love the Amy Tangerine On A Whim collection washi tape that had multiple tapes included.  It worked perfectly to match with the colorful paper and the mixed media water colors and gelatos I used.

I popped up the Paper Issues free files title that I used.  I also cut out the You Fill my heart full of Love  cut file for all of the hearts in the border. The AT chipboard Thickers were the perfect addition under my title.

Clear stickers are the perfect addition to photos or background paper. Find some of AT On A Whim and her new collection: Hustle and Heart in the store.

Have a wonderful first day of August!  Summer is scooting by too quickly.  I hope you will join us on the new challenges that pop up throughout the month. This one is a definite must.  Washi is always a good idea to play with!

Pool Splash Time: Title Bling

Today at Paper Issues on the blog is the Working Title Challenge and it's all about the BLING in March!  Bring on the sparkles!  I added silver striped Thickers and sequins to my layout that was all about splashing around in the pool on vacay!

First I started by layering Amy Tangerine's On A Whim washi tape to a piece of paper to be the background for a heart cut file.  I stitched down the diagonal strips of On A Whim washi tape. Next, I stitched around the heart multiple times to adhere it all in place.

The sequins and silver striped Thickers were the perfect bit of sparkle and bling these watery LO needed!

No patterned paper at all on this one!  I used more Amy Tangerine washi to mat the photo and added more sequins.

The close up the title and the fun shine the sequins give to the pool page.

Thanks for checking how I worked my title!  Join us on Facebook and post your titlework creations.  Bling it on this month!

You are my Happy

Today's Product Spotlight at Paper Issues is on Amy Tangerine's new Oh Happy Life.  I wanted to use the super cute thin washi to create a background.
I started out with the cropped 11x11 sheet of white cardstock and added the plus signs washi pieces.  I wasn't too specific on spacing and washi is forgiving, so tear it up and move it up if you need to!
Next, I added my photo layers.  For the title I added ephemera pieces to the Thickers.  I popped up some parts of the title with pop dots for dimension.  I used the clear stickers on the photo and ephemera tag. My last step was adding the stitching on the photo mat, edge of the cardstock border, and finished with India ink splats.  I love how her patterned paper draws the eye to all the colors in the border area of the LO.
Pretty much I just want to focus on his cutest baby thighs in the picture.  I mean, really!  They grow up so fast.
Have fun trying all of the new products in Amy Tangerine's new collection. You will not be disappointed. When you shop, don't forget to use my code: Stacie for 20% off your order.
