Page Maps- September Sketch

We partnered with Becky Fleck of Page Maps this month at Paper Issues
and here's my take on the sketch!

You can see I mixed up the sketch and used stars in place of the hearts.
It was so much fun to stitch on a layout using lots of colors to coordinate.
The Simple Stories Lil Dude collection was fun to use
and it paired so well with Ryan's photos from Hawaii.

Check out more PI Design Team team ups with Page Maps on the Page Maps blog.
You can find all of the Page Maps sketches
 for September and play along!

Try It Tuesday: Washi Tape

Happy August!  We are back with a new month full of challenges to try out. Check out the PI blog--Try It Tuesday is all about fun ways to use washi tape to add texture to your projects!  I had so much fun using my neglected washi tape on this challenge!

A few close ups of the torn washi and stitching with mixed media.
I love the Amy Tangerine On A Whim collection washi tape that had multiple tapes included.  It worked perfectly to match with the colorful paper and the mixed media water colors and gelatos I used.

I popped up the Paper Issues free files title that I used.  I also cut out the You Fill my heart full of Love  cut file for all of the hearts in the border. The AT chipboard Thickers were the perfect addition under my title.

Clear stickers are the perfect addition to photos or background paper. Find some of AT On A Whim and her new collection: Hustle and Heart in the store.

Have a wonderful first day of August!  Summer is scooting by too quickly.  I hope you will join us on the new challenges that pop up throughout the month. This one is a definite must.  Washi is always a good idea to play with!

Brrr Snow Day

Snow and Cocoa from Crate Paper is definitely a favorite of mine for the winter season!  Check out the Paper Issues blog today as we spotlight this gorgeous collection!

Here are a few closeups of Snow and Cocoa by Crate Paper!  I hope you grabbed it early in the season as most of it is SOLD OUT!  You can still get our free cut files from the Paper Issues shop.

I added white gesso on the background to lighten and whiten the area.  I layered the cut files and photo mats on that area.

I added lots of stickers and ephemera from the collection.  The chipboard stickers are some of my favorites!

I love adding stitching to a layout and for this design I added pink machine stitching to the snowflakes and title.

Thanks for taking a look at my snowy girl design!  I hope you are inspired today and get a chance to check out the blog and Facebook post for more ideas!  Play along until December 5th for a chance to win a gift card to Paper Issues!

Love this Girl!

I love the fun quick videos and classes at Big Picture Classes. This layout was inspired from Paige's Pages 3 on using scraps to create a concentric star. The new Amy Tangerine line Finder's Keepers, was perfect to make a school themed page with the skinny pencils.
Her new Thickers are the best! I can't wait to use them on more projects. The white acrylic paint is always a good idea to add a bit of random interest to a page.
The painted wood Thickers are super fun to use and added another texture to the layout.
My go-to technique of stitching is used to adhere the paper pieces to the Silhouette sketched stars and the border layer on the edge. Happy fall and busy school  schedules!

First Day of School

It was fun to showcase first day pictures in speech bubbles with sentiments from Amy Tangerine's Stitched collection.
I'm a big lover of stitching all the things. I added several layers and bits from her papers.
I finished with spray mist drops.
Paper Issues blog has a link up and this fits the back to school theme option. Check it out!

Looking Out At The World

I have had this Fancy Pants paper waiting to be used. I thought it worked well with this story of Ryan in the Summer of 2013. He would longingly watch his siblings from the deck at the lake, so badly wanting to be big!
I added a cut file Hello from Paper Issues store and little alpha stickers from October Afternoon.
I added rows of stitching to the top and bottom as well as over some of the alpha stickers.
It was fun to play along with Paper Issues Facebook group's Scrap And Chat.

Hello Adventure

To add to the movement on this page, I layered the photos with Glitz Design 6 x 6 papers, overlapped the photos at an angle, and used labels to journal.  The stitching templates were from Bazzill  Basics.  The pink floss was from an Amy Tangerine stitching kit.  The background paper was from Amy Tangerine's Plus One collection and was the fun bold print that reminded me of a beach towel to go along with the pool bliss on the page.
