Take Me Away: Paige's Page Kit Product Spotlight

Today we are shining the spotlight on Paige Evan's newest Pink Paislee collection called Take Me Away!  Check out all of the inspiration on the Paper Issues blog.  Here's my project using her mini kits called Paige's Pages.  It comes with foam adhesive, acetate pieces, embellishments and the background layers.  I usually can use the extras on multiple layouts.
I decided to make the white die cut quote into a mixed media color bomb.  I started out with gesso over the die cut background.

I matched watercolors to the Number 5 map paper that I used behind the die cut quote.
I tucked my daughter's photos behind two of the letters.  I then stitched down the die cut quote to the map paper.  I added embellishments from the ephemera pack and foam heart Thickers.

I added the word phrase stickers to the top and bottom to follow the background color.  I used Paige's roller stamp hearts and xxxxx's in various spots in the background.
Thanks for checking out how to alter a Paige Kit and make it work for your photos and design.  My daughter loves that she can see part of Minnesota, California, and Florida peeking out through the letters. I hope you'll give one of these pre-made kits a try! They are stocked in the store and you can save 20% with my code: Stacie

Happy Dance

Looking for a project that uses your favorite scraps or cut away strips from papers? Concentric designs like a star, heart, diamond, or square can work with this idea! I went with the mega stars to play with the sketch for July at Paper Issues.
I sketched the design on the Silhouette Cameo using sketch pens/pencil. Lightly adhere the center of each scrap on the line. You want to be able to lift up the edges after they are sewn down!
It's always hard to decide what to cover because I usually love how it all looks!
Get out your fave collection and embellish! In my case, I used Pink Paislee's Fancy Free which I love something huge! I use vellum to soften the layers and set the photo up on pop dots for dimension above the textured background! This idea originated from Paige Evan's "Paige's Pages" class at Big Picture Classes. I love having a springboard to prompt an idea when I'm stuck! I also did this idea with this LO:

Love this Girl!

I love the fun quick videos and classes at Big Picture Classes. This layout was inspired from Paige's Pages 3 on using scraps to create a concentric star. The new Amy Tangerine line Finder's Keepers, was perfect to make a school themed page with the skinny pencils.
Her new Thickers are the best! I can't wait to use them on more projects. The white acrylic paint is always a good idea to add a bit of random interest to a page.
The painted wood Thickers are super fun to use and added another texture to the layout.
My go-to technique of stitching is used to adhere the paper pieces to the Silhouette sketched stars and the border layer on the edge. Happy fall and busy school  schedules!
