Notable Quotable April

Today at Paper Issues we have the Notable Quotable challenge.  Michelle has a fun quote for you to interpret this month!  Go check it out and join us on Facebook as you get inspired!

I used this fave Sprinkle raindrop paper from Amy Tangerine's new On A Whim collection. I love the mix of patterns in the raindrops and the bold color it just pops off of the light blue paper.

I paired this fun paper with the PI cloudy circle cut file.  This was a great place to pop up my quote title and yet keep it from looking too busy!

I started this LO with each word being a different color of Thickers or alpha sticker that coordinated with the raindrop colors. However, in the end it looked too disjointed and I wanted it to flow more uniformly against the colorful background paper! I love the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams chipboard, the word happy worked well in the cloud.

Hawaii is such the perfect location to capture a rainbow. I love that this quote worked for gray skies leading to a beautiful rainbow.  Evan was there to enjoy the sights that day and it is great reminder for his album to always look on the bright side.

I can't wait to see how you are inspired by this month's quote or artwork for Notable Quotable.  Post your design in the Facebook group album so we can give you some love!

A Winter Quote to Love

Happy New Year!  I can't believe it's already here!  Today we are full of surprises and new things at Paper Issues.  I am playing along with the new challenge based off of this quote for the month.  Take inspiration from any of the words, the colors, the snowflakes, etc...  I made it super easy and found the exact quote on the Simple Stories Winter Wonderland paper!

I love all of the design pieces included with the Simple Stories Winter Wonerland collection.  I used 12x12 cardstock stickers, ephemera bits, and other snowflake cut files to add to this pretty snowy background.  I also added flair from Feed Your Craft as the snowflake and saying was the perfect for this design theme.

I totally have a love going with white acrylic paint.  I love the look it adds to a LO and in this case it adds a look of snow.  Perfect for winter designs!

My little guy's face peeking out from his frosty hat makes me smile!  I love these word stickers on the 12x12 sticker sheet.  They help the eye to look throughout the page and in this case, I wanted the eye to look over to his little face!

Have a wonderful day!  Enjoy this first day of the new year!  We hope you'll play along with this new quote challenge this month at Paper Issues!

Take Me Away: Paige's Page Kit Product Spotlight

Today we are shining the spotlight on Paige Evan's newest Pink Paislee collection called Take Me Away!  Check out all of the inspiration on the Paper Issues blog.  Here's my project using her mini kits called Paige's Pages.  It comes with foam adhesive, acetate pieces, embellishments and the background layers.  I usually can use the extras on multiple layouts.
I decided to make the white die cut quote into a mixed media color bomb.  I started out with gesso over the die cut background.

I matched watercolors to the Number 5 map paper that I used behind the die cut quote.
I tucked my daughter's photos behind two of the letters.  I then stitched down the die cut quote to the map paper.  I added embellishments from the ephemera pack and foam heart Thickers.

I added the word phrase stickers to the top and bottom to follow the background color.  I used Paige's roller stamp hearts and xxxxx's in various spots in the background.
Thanks for checking out how to alter a Paige Kit and make it work for your photos and design.  My daughter loves that she can see part of Minnesota, California, and Florida peeking out through the letters. I hope you'll give one of these pre-made kits a try! They are stocked in the store and you can save 20% with my code: Stacie
