You Make Me Smile

I am up on the Paper Issues blog today showcasing the Notable Quotable challenge for April. Here's the quote image:
I was inspired by the flowers and mason jar.  I used the mason jar cut file from the PI free files and made that my focus on the design.

For this layout, I was all about adding extra dimension to the cut file. I added watercolor to the stems to add a touch of green.  Amy Tangerine's Sunshine and Good Times new collection has fun patterns and spring colors that worked well against the dark background wood grain. The vellum layer for the mason jar softened the background and helped be the base of the photo.

Lately, I have used so much gold in my projects. It was a nice change to dig through my stash for silver. The silver pink foam Thickers were from an older Pink Paislee collection. I had silver chipboard frames that worked as a dimensional layer behind the photo.

After backing the flowers, I added enamel dots to the centers for added color and shine! The messy threads were a fun addition since I didn't use a bow or twine (or any sewing!!) on this design. I love the texture they add to the flower bouquet.

I hope you have enjoyed the weekend crop at Paper Issues, as well as our April Challenges.  The crop challenges are open through the week so you can enjoy International Scrapbook Day and play along with PI! Check out Paper Issues {Friends and Fans} for all of the details. April challenges are open through April 30th.  Spring Crop is open until May 6th at midnight pacific time.

Notable Quotable: Together Hooray!

It's time to be inspired by Michelle's quote pick of the month. Check out the Paper Issues blog today for all of the details! I love this month's print from the talented Amy Tangerine.  The rainbow colors and her script writing made this layout come together in a flash.

I used her new On A Whim collection and I love how the daisy cut file made the patterned paper pop against the bold pink!
I used the daisy frame cut file to be my photo border.  I love the Amy Tangerine half circle felt embellishments.  They add another texture, dimension, and color to a project. I love how these worked out perfectly for the flower centers.  My next new item added to the collecion are the enamel pin stickers. The camera was the perfect embellishment for my cousin and I, as we tried to snap so many selfies.

The paper clip flower has to be my favorite paper design.  I love how it looks on petals. Splatters of watered down acrylic paint finished it off! All the colors and patterns add to the quote vibe by Amy Tangerine. Speaking of Amy--did you see Cassie is offering 50% all of Amy Tangerine products that are in the shop. Code at checkout: AMY use code before Sunday!

We hope you will join us in the PIFF group and submit your CROP challenges before Friday/Sat.
This project gets linked in the Notable Quotable November gallery.

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

We are all about the quote on the Paper Issues blog today. A new Notable Quotable is posted for inspiration!
Image may contain: text
I was inspired by the actual quote for my daughter as she navigates being a tween. I also included the heart in my layout as I had been wanting to use the mega fringe heart cut file.

I used a watercolor paper by Ella & Viv that I purchased from the PI store this past autumn.  I love how it looks with all of the rainbow papers layered on top of it.  I stashbusted lots of embellishments to sprinkle on the fringe layers.
The American Crafts Hello Spring papers are perfect for more than just the bunny and Easter themed sides.  The colors are vibrant and fun for summer designs!

The fringe heart cut file was so easy to layer and use as a design element on my layout.  It was fun to hunt for tone on tone embellishments to stashbust for the fringe layers.

I hope you'll join us this month with notable quotable and show us how you've been inspired by the quote from Michelle.
Also, try a pair fringe scissors or fringe cut file for fun!  I'd love to see your take on this challenge!

Notable Quotable May

Check out the new Notable Quotable challenge to get you inspired and ready to create this month!
I love this quote that Michelle inspired us with!

I went with the flowers and explained how on vacay, I always stop for hibiscus.  These tropical flowers make me feel like I am back in Hawaii or on some other amazing island! I used a free cut file from PI called Tropical Orchid and Elle's Studio Live Laugh Love mixed with wood veneer from Cocoa Vanilla Studios.

Elle's Studio newest collection, Live Laugh Love is pretty and full of fun color for spring/summer.  I love the backgound paper.  The green is such a beautiful color and the mixed media brush strokes makes it fabulous and fast to create with!

The Elle's Studio coordinating enamel dots and puffy stickers are so perfect for quick embellishments.  I love the brush script alpha wood veneer from Cocoa Vanilla Studios Wild Heart.  I love how this looks paired with the cut file.

There are sooooo many new collections in the store, so do not delay and go fill up your cart!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Notable Quotable March

The quote is a fun one to study, ponder, be inspired by, and create something that speaks to you!  Check out the Paper Issues blog today to see Michelle's post for the month of March!  I was so inspired by the paint colors on the quote and the message of growing up.  I'd love my littlest who just turned 5 to stay little just a bit longer!

I used lots of Cocoa Vanilla Studio Make A Wish on top of my ombre painted background.  I started with one color of acrylic paint and just added more white as I went along down the page.

The Make  A Wish wood veneer are super versatile and work for more than just birthday pages.

The cut apart Party Mix paper is still available in the store.   I used that for the "So Much Fun" card and a few more places in layers for this page design.

Check out the Paper Issues store it is full of new items.  Be sure to fill up your cart and enter the code: Stacie to save 20% off your total order.

Love the Life You Live

Today we reveal the new quote of the month for the Notable Quotable challenge at Paper Issues. Love this quote and knew I had to bust out the older collection by Amy Tangerine that had this quote on the PL card set.  I mixed this with new Amy Tangerine's On A Whim.  The background is by Simple Stories that I had made in advance with extra acrylic paint I had mixed up.
Here are a few close ups-- I started with the painted background and then carried the color into the gold embossed watercolor tag from Amy Tangerine's On a Whim collection. Also check out the washi!

The quote card was hoarded and in my stash from Amy's Plus One collection. It got s fresh look with the clear gold stickers on it!

The Do Your Thing sticker was easy to tie into the design by matting it on patterned papers.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are super inspired to use the quote Michelle
selected for the month!
