Scraplift Sunday: Love These Days

Today on the Paper Issues Blog we are lifting the talented Michelle Gallant as she created a stunning patriotic Canada Day layout.  I love the overlapping elements at the mid-line.  I just got the new collections from American Crafts in the mail from Paper Issues and I couldn't wait to use something new.  This is from Creekside by one canoe two.  This collection has so many pretty designs it was hard to pick.  I loved the row of flowers on this patterned paper.  I cut it in half and moved it to the top half.  Check out the long roller stamp as well.  I love the row of leaves and so many more.

I loved this picture of Brooklyn with the peonies--because--peonies!!  No really, she loves to be in the pictures and was happy to pose with the gorgeous blooms at Grandma's house. The gelatos and watercolors were used to give splatters along the midline among the flowers.  I used flair from my stash and popped some elements up with foam dots.  The little stickers were fun to layer under the photo as mini banners.

The Creekside 6x12 stickers and ephemera pieces worked so well together for layering.

Scraplift Sunday is such a fun challenge to join in on!  Check out Michelle's design on the PI blog and lift it.  I can't wait to see your take on this one!

Swag Bag: Together

I hope you are ready to be wowed by the power of a magical swag bag from Paper Issues.  These kits are nothing but bliss each month!  Here's my layout using the April swag bag kit!  I love how it led me to try out a monochromatic layout with neutrals and gold.

A few more looks at the beautiful gold shine and fun patterns included in the swag bag.
The gold binder clips from Heidi Swapp and tags with gold are perfect for layering!

The Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane gold script words are so pretty to add a pop of shine in projects.

The black pockets with gold embossing were perfect to tuck journaling into and layer with photos and embellishments.

Go check out the subscription to grab a monthly swag bag for yourself.  This LO only used a portion of this April swag bag.  I still have lots left to use on several projects.  Check out this amazing swag bag kit that Cassie creates each month. You won't be disappointed!  You can purchase one each month if you are fast enough to grab one before they are sold out!

Pawsitively Pets: Ryan & Ruff

Today on the Paper Issues blog it's all about pets with another fun month of Pawsitively Pets.  I went the alternate route this month and documented my son's favorite dog-stuffed pet style, Ruff.

This dog is the mega sized stuffed animal from IKEA.  Ryan was one at the time and it was so cute to see him in the cart with the huge dog. Once the dog was in the cart....nope, no way, was that thing going out of his hands!

I wanted to use up some of my American Crafts Hazelwood collection by one canoe two.  I love this bold plaid print and mixed with black and white photos, it just pops!

I am so glad these photos of Ry and his fave fluffy dog worked with the Hazelwood collection.  I love the look of all of it together.  The Hazelwood cork embellishments were the perfect match to his dog Ruff.

The Hazelwood collection had so many beautiful shades of cool colors.  I added the 6 x 12 accent stickers to the tag cluster.

I hope you will join us this month with the "three things I love about" your pet or zoo adventure, or stuffed animal!!

Pinspire Me: January Edition

It's time to get sparkly!  Check out the new mood board for Pinspire Me January.  Mary-Ann has crafted an amazing inspirational spring board for you to get started scrapping!

I was inspired by the gold stars, so I used the free PI star background cut file and painted it with gold acrylic paint mixed with gold glitter glue.  It added just enough sparkle!

A few close ups of the mixed media cut file process.  The gold paint was shimmery, but muted.  The gold glitter glue added the littles shimmers of glitter bits.  This was a good contrast against the darker polka dots Hazelwood paper.

Here's how it looked after I dried it with the heat gun.

I loved my son's silly glasses pictures from summer.  They worked with this star theme and I wanted to use one canoe two's AC Hazelwood collection.  I was all about using the gold foam Thickers and the gold phrase Thickers from Hazelwood.

Check out the gorgeous gold sequins from the December Swag Bag!  I added several wavy rows of stitching to adhere the cut file down and  to create a subtle frame around the layout.  I used foam dots to raise up the photos and I matted them with vellum to help them not get lost against the sea of stars.

Hazelwood

Today at Paper Issues, we are all about the gorgeous new American Crafts line by one canoe two! Hazelwood is so versatile! The color scheme worked well with our summer cruise photos.  I love this Forest Berry patterned paper from the collection.  The stripes could work well with so many creative page designs!

I love the script phrase Thickers that I used for my title.  They are so beautiful and made this page design work as a tone on tone layout.  The gold accents add to the pretty embellishments included in this collection.

Check out the the new date stamp  by my journaling in the next photo.  It has a floral border that coordinates with the collection.  I stamped it in similar colored ink to make it stay with the design and I didn't want it to be the main focus.

The cork embellishments add such great texture and depth to the page.  I love that I could use these as tropical flowers for my Caribbean cruise.

I love the accent stickers included in the collection for layering on photos or scattered throughout with your embellishments.  The gold touches on the stickers is perfect to coordinate with the phrase Thickers.  I layered several of the patterned papers under my photo.

Thanks for checking out my layout for our spotlight on 1 Canoe 2's Hazelwood collection for American Crafts.
