Super Sundae Player of the Game

Hello! Stacie here with the new June challenge, Super Sundae!
Go check out more details on the Paper Issues blog.
I couldn't wait to use the beautiful, new June kit: Pontoon.
The May swag bag for added ephemera and layers.
I was inspired to create the look of sprinkles on top of the sundae!

The PI free cut file baseball heart is from the set called  Homerun Heart.
I backed the cut file baseball with vellum for a cool opague layer.
It created a nice title grouping in the solid "dish" part of the sundae.  My son loves the team huddle after each game to hear the coach talk and award the Dairy Queen sundae player of the game!
We all play for ice cream!

The photo mat layers are from the June kit or the PI  Swag Bag from May. I love the pops of color that are stacked and lead your eye into the sprinkle toppings (polka dot).  The cool Bella Blvd. red Florence alpha for the title was such a fun pop of color on the layered title.

I hope you are inspired to try a new June challenge including Super Sundae in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook group.  All June challenges are open until July 1st.
Have you tried a Paper Issues monthly kit?  If not, go grab the scrapbook  kit or swag bag kit-you'll be so happy that you did!  They are seriously full of amazing products each month!

Free File Free-For-All

I am over on the Paper Issues blog today because It's Free File Free-For-All!
It's Friday!! Annnnnnnd...it's Groundhog day....so in the spirit of seeing shadows,
I created a fun black and white design using the heart wreath cut file today!
I love the Forever My Always collection from Pebbles.
These papers were so much fun to get creative with!
Let's check out my take for February and Paper Issues Free File Free-For-All!

My why-
This guy--he is literally the sweetest.
He will randomly say multiple times a day...."Mom?"
 "Yes, Ryan?"
  "Mom, I love you."
I mean my heart melts each and every time.
  He gives us all kisses.
He makes sure we are happy.
He just started opening my car door
for me each morning before school...
and he waits outside so he can close my door, too.
Yes, so much love for this kid.
I don't want to forget these moments.
We know they grow up in a blink!

Here are a few close ups:
Gesso and mixed media in the background. I used gelatos and the packaging technique for the color to bring color to the black and white background. I wanted the cut file heart wreath popped up with foam dots to create more of a shadow and depth from the bold text patterned paper.

Still a fan of a touch of gold shimmer to a few of the embellishments scattered throughout.  Enamel dots and hearts are the perfect sprinkle!

See what I mean?!  All the Groundhog Day homage with the dark shadowy colors, black and white photo, and popped up layers!  The ephemera for Forever My Always, is just perfect for layering.

I love the pink stitching against the dark backdrop.  Also, I just had to rough up the edges to curl back the patterned paper to show the soft pink and cute hearts. It ties in the colors of the cut file and the mixed media gelato colors that I layered.

So that's how I kicked off the new challenges at Paper Issues!  I sure hope you will join me and post your new creations using cut files or other PI free files in the February album!

Free File Friday: Fall in Love with Leaves

Yay! It's FRIDAY and at Paper Issues we are all about the freebies--as in Free File Friday!  Go check out the PI blog for a round up of projects from the team showcasing various leaves that are offered in the shop!
I wanted the leaves to be layered around my fall photo and didn't even use white cardstock at all for the cut files.  I mixed it up with polka dot texture cardstock, kraft, and woodgrain! I love how it complements the small leaf background paper from Carta Bella Hello Fall.

This project uses three Paper Issues free cut files: Autumn Blessings
for the title, Boo Pumpkins for the orange leaves, and Fall Fun for the kraft leaves.
from their Creekside collection by American Crafts.

Fall is definitely a fun season full of beauty if you live in
an area that gives way to a free color-show!
My son had so much fun collecting leaves of so many shapes and colors!
It is definitely fitting to "fall in love" with nature!

The paper textures are my favorite part of this project.  Carta Bella has the thickest patterned paper and it has such a lovely texture to it.  It worked so well to sew it with a slight border left around it to wrinkle, fold, bend, and tear to give peeks at the lovely golden yellow "side B" of the paper.
The Pebbles, Heart of Home by Jen Hadfield dark espresso paper with sentiments is a must.  It is so sweet and perfect for documenting family!

Download the free files at Paper Issues and play along all month long!
I can't wait to see what you create with leaves.
Tag us online so we can find your work and send you some love!

Always find a spot for an ampersand, lol!  Here's a close up of the layers and the pretzel necklaces-- the whole reason I needed this Girl Squad paper.

Simple Life by Pebbles Spotlight

Today we are up on the Paper Issues blog with a spotlight on Pebbles Simple Life by Jen Hadfield.

This picture of my daughter this past fall worked perfectly with the Simple Life collection.  This is definitely an earthy and monochromatic type of layout, but it is always fun to mix it up from the norm!  The woodgrain Thickers are a fave of mine with this collection!

I love the wood veneer set and the butterflies were a must to go with the patterned paper.  I love to add stitching to add a bit of texture and interest!

Have a wonderful day!  I hope you get a chance to check out the design team on the Paper Issues blog and get more ideas and inspiration on how to use Simple Life in your projects!

Pawsitively Pets: Zoo Friends

Today up on the Paper Issues blog we are all about pets--or animals--or stuffed animals and why they are so very loved.  Take your pick and join us!
My take uses the new Jen Hadfield's Simple Life for Pebbles collection.  I love the woodgrain paper designs she always includes in her collections.  It worked so well with the zoo pic! The background is the new interlocking hearts cut file included in the free files at PI.  I love how it looks layered!

The wood veneer pack includes words and images.  I love their detailed look and they work so well layered.  The word and phrase strip stickers are embossed and have fun sayings that I scattered throughout the background.

Brooklyn was so excited to get so close to a gorgeous giraffe.  The lettuce was grabbed right out of her hands by this hungry friend.

The woodgrain thickers are a new fave of mine. I love how you can mix the different tones and patterns and it is still subtle for a busy background.

I can't wait to see how you document your "pets" or friendly animals in your life!
Get this gorgeous Pebbles collection or anything else that strikes your fancy!

My Funny Valentine

Today's Paper Issues spotlight is on Pebbles My Funny Valentine.  I wanted to use it in a non-Valentine's Day way, so I found my silly butterfly seat photo op picture that my husband snapped of me on St. Thomas.  He failed to let me know it said, "Butt..." behind my head.  Most people would center the person in the photo or tell them to scoot down to cover up the words. Nope.  He was just a fan of one and done picture taking, smile and then onto the next adventure!  So he gave me the gift of this punny picture which goes perfectly with this Pebbles line!

I added gesso and gelatos to blend out the title section of the background with layers of pinks and red to help the adorable heart Thickers pop off of the background.  Those scattered hearts are so adorable on these "Ella" Thickers!  The mini alpha were on an AC remarks sticker sheet.  To position, straighten and change my mind with the title, I use the clear sticker packaging to place the Thickers on and then align them with it as a straight edge.
I love how the title came together.  It is a total play on words with the BUT and the Butt...erfly picture.  It was fun to document this silly moment with my husband. I love you, but....  This still makes me laugh.  The things they do!!  The 6x12 stickers had more golden bliss on it, check out the hearts and butterfly stickers from this sticker sheet!

I love all of the pops of gold that is included in this collection!  The ephemera worked perfectly with my silly pic.  Love these glitter heart stickers and  there are three colors of textured gold glitter hearts in the pack--they will be used for lots of fun projects!  The puffy stickers are also a win!  Check out that cute arrow that was all matchy matchy with the tear strip from the paper.

May your day have something silly to laugh at, too!!  Find the little things and make them big moments to treasure!
Thanks for looking at all of the fun Pebbles Funny Valentine pics and have fun checking out the rest of the team's inspiration!

Warm and Cozy Spotlight

Today we are up the Paper Issues blog with a product spotlight on Jen Hadfield's new collection with Pebbles, Warm & Cozy.  It is super rich in color and has so many gorgeous fall details in the collection.
I love the Log Cabin wood grain paper and the Logs leaf paper with wood grain design.  The cut logs on the opposite side are perfect for outdoor pictures, as well.  I stitched strips of these papers at the side and bottom edge of the layout.  The title Family is from the 6x12 title stickers.
I love the leaves that come in the ephemera and sticker pack.  There are a few in the copper/rose gold color and several in color.  These partnered well with the wood grain/bark/dictionary chipboard leaves in the collection.  These leaves are my favorites!  I love the look of texture and interest they add.
I cut out the large leave cut file from the Cut Shoppe and popped it off the page with foam adhesive.  I also added Shimelle's Go Now Go wooden enamel buttons and Studio Calico sequins. I love the groupings of leaves and sprinkling of sequins to keep the movement in the design.

Paper Issues: Unbeleaf-able Outdoors

I am up on the Paper Issues blog with round 2 of the current issue: Unbe-leafable Great Outdoors.
I used Jen Hadfield for Pebbles' new collection called Warm & Cozy.  I love her collection of leaf papers, wood grains, and these chipboard leaf die cuts are gorgeous!
I stitched the upper and lower paper strips and added the ephemera pieces with stitching.  I added messy threads throughout the die cut chipboard leaf "pile up" on the bottom of my photos to add movement and texture.  My youngest two loved hiking around in the forest at their grandparents' house.  It was magical to hear them being so imaginative and listening to the echo of their voices.  They had such a sweet autumn adventure that day!  Happy photo collecting and memory making this gorgeous time of year!
