Swag Bag Sunday

Today on the Paper Issues blog we are showing a new round of projects using the monthly swag bag kits.  I combined several kits to coordinate the color scheme to watery teals and a pop of yellow.  Several things were from the February kit.  I love when you can create several LOs or projects with one swag bag kit.

Here are a few close ups to show the pretty papers and little embellishment bits!  I think that little Crate Paper Maggie Holmes tassel is adorable!  I finally used it after hoarding it from an earlier swag bag!
The only thing I added were the foam Thickers for my title and a few enamel dots.  The rest is all swag bag bliss!

I hope you'll check out the Paper Issues store and grab a monthly kit for yourself. You will never be disappointed in all that Cassie packs into a swag bag!  Get the six month subscription or buy them month to month.  It's the best surprise mail!  All of the bags are slightly different with ephemera and embellishments, making these wonderful kits a true surprise each month!

Swag Bag February

I am always excited to get a monthly Paper Issues Swag Bag in the mail!  Cassie jam packs the kits full of page making bliss!  Of course, these are perfect for so many other types of projects- Project Life, card making, off the page, and planner spreads!
Check out the amazing February Swag Bag:

I used the January Swag Bag kit to make this banner layout.  I was inspired by the sweet banners, ephemera, and stickers included in the kit!  It made this design come together so quickly.  I cut several more banners and flags from other cards and layered the heart day cards with paper scraps and my 2 x 2 photos.

I love starting with gesso and the packaging technique with watercolors for random fun!

 This is how it started:

I layered the pieces and bits from the January kit to make the two strands of banners. The title is You & Me which is a free PI cut file included with the Poppy flowers cut file.  This worked perfect as it is all about our summer date nights. Several papers and ephemera pieces are from Crate Paper Heart Day and others from Pebbles My Funny Valentine!  Those glitter heart stickers added a fun look and texture.  I also glued on a smattering of the sequin hearts included in this kit!

When in doubt--machine stitch it out!  If I get sloppy on the first pass through--I make it part of the design to go over the stitching multiple times! Also, fringe scissor love--I added texture and style to the bottom of several tags by cutting the tags with the fringe scissors.  Love the Simple Stories clear stickers that were included in two of the recent monthly swag bag kits.  These added fun sentiments and helped add interest to papers that were plain!

December Swag Bag

It's Swag Bag time at Paper Issues!  The new December swag bag is full of golden goodness!  Have you checked it out in the store?  Here's mine-  I just received it in the mail today!

Here's my Swag Bag layout that I created with November's, October's and September's swag bags.

I was inspired by the Paper Issues order card with the coffee quote.  The Amy Tangerine watercolor circle prompted the circle theme!  I added the background paper to my swag bag mix and I added the coffee alpha stickers.  Otherwise, all the rest of the items are included in the swag bag!

Here are a few close ups:
I love, love, love the coffee card and the sweater paper!  So perfect for winter designs (or coffee)!  The Pinkfresh gold foil hearts paper fit right with my theme of my love of coffee.

I like the pops of pink that are scattered throughout the page.  I used more pink watercolor splatters on the background.

I snuck in the "I have issues" card to peek out of the coffee photo mats.  As in daily coffee issues!

I hope you are inspired to open up a swag bag from Paper Issues and get creative!  Cassie has the best coordinated bags each month and they never cease to amaze me!  I love to scheme layout designs and projects to use each little piece with!

Swag Bag Play

I love Swag Bag Sunday each month.  These gorgeous little bags stuffed full of bliss arrive each month and I love going through it all and dreaming up plans for the pieces and papers!

This layout was created with only part of my November Swag Bag.  Yes, there is so much that I saved for a few more pages!

Here's the background.  I first started with strips of the papers in a loose ombre design.I added just a bit of adhesive before stitching them in place.  I alternated the thread from pink and aqua. I love the subtle color it adds.

Once all the pieces were cut out and stitched in place, I started layering my daugther's picture with all of the leftover parts of the paper.
I love the look of water-downed white acrylic paint splatters on winter themed papers. It almost sparkles like snowflakes.  The fun sequins of all different shades of pink were made for this page!

This photo of my daughter at age 3 1/2 is so perfect for the moment it captured.  We lived in the desert of CA and snow didn't fall very often.  When there was snow, we stopped everything and headed outside for pictures and snowballs!  She was just in shock and awe of the beauty of it falling from the skies.  I love the snowflakes all over her hair and her little outstretched hand reaching up for more!  The Fancy Free glitter Thickers from Pink Paislee  goes perfect with this winter theme.  The Yay flair from Cocoa Vanilla Studio is so fitting for a winter day of play!

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  I hope you are inspired to get out your swag bag bits and create a layout, pocket page, or planner spread!
