Happy New Year! Get in Motion!

Happy New Year!
I am up on the Paper Issues blog with a new challenge.
This January Challenge is all about things in motion.
I don't know about you, but coffee is what signites me into motion each day!

Motion or movement on the page could also be interpreted as the repeated circles and patterns on the page. The Joyful cut file includes circles that I cut in varying sizes and cut the coffee cups and sleeves into circles to layer around the photo.  For this design, I used two large coffee cups.

I started with white gesso on the red patterned paper to soften the edges around the circles.
 Next, I added  the splatters.
I dry them with a hair dryer after each color of splatters so they don't smear/blend.
The paint is watered down acrylic paint in red, black, and green.
Yes, total advertisment for Starbucks.  This is my third yearly design using their special cups.
This year, I had to document trying a new flavor: Juniper Latte.
Also, I love that it shows I was drinking more coffee at 4 pm!!
Tis' the Season to need
more hours in the day to do all the things!

 Yes, I agree--coffee=magic!

Love these Christmas Thickers in a wood tone color from Crate Paper Merry Days.  The mini foam alpha from Pink Paislee are perfect for secondary title words!

Make the 1st day of the new year a great one with
time to create and play along with the new

December Swag Bag

It's Swag Bag time at Paper Issues!  The new December swag bag is full of golden goodness!  Have you checked it out in the store?  Here's mine-  I just received it in the mail today!

Here's my Swag Bag layout that I created with November's, October's and September's swag bags.

I was inspired by the Paper Issues order card with the coffee quote.  The Amy Tangerine watercolor circle prompted the circle theme!  I added the background paper to my swag bag mix and I added the coffee alpha stickers.  Otherwise, all the rest of the items are included in the swag bag!

Here are a few close ups:
I love, love, love the coffee card and the sweater paper!  So perfect for winter designs (or coffee)!  The Pinkfresh gold foil hearts paper fit right with my theme of my love of coffee.

I like the pops of pink that are scattered throughout the page.  I used more pink watercolor splatters on the background.

I snuck in the "I have issues" card to peek out of the coffee photo mats.  As in daily coffee issues!

I hope you are inspired to open up a swag bag from Paper Issues and get creative!  Cassie has the best coordinated bags each month and they never cease to amaze me!  I love to scheme layout designs and projects to use each little piece with!

Paper Issues Take 5 Tuesday

I love picking items from the Paper Issues' Take 5 list and turning them into a layout!  It really makes me focus on how I can incorporate each detail into my design.  For September here are the options:
I used circles, wood veneer, letter stickers, globe/map, a border (stitching and paper), and enamel dots.  I love this paper collection called You Are Here from Simple Stories.  It was perfect for documenting summer travel and island life.
I hand stitched all around the circles that I had previously sketched with the Silhouette Cameo silver sketch pen. The sketch can be found on Ashley Horton's You Tube channel.  I was inspired from her first week of Stretch Your Sketch as she hand stitched around her circles.  Next, I started layering my circles.  This was fun to stick with a collection and not have to worry about if things coordinate.  The Simple Stories You Are Here collection has die cuts, stickers, pocket page designs, and papers (and so much more!).
Thanks so much for taking a peek at this travel LO done for Take 5 Tuesday at Paper Issues. Don't forget to document all of your summer adventures.  Save money on your next check-out with the code: Stacie

Disneyland is my Favorite

Pink Paislee's new Fancy Free by Paige Evans has been long awaited! I played with a bit tonight.
Super fun polka dot papers to punch out. I have a love of circle punches, polka dots, and round elements on my pages!! Also, the glitter Thickers and ephemera pack add fun details and texture!
It was amazing to take a bit of time to create. I'm almost done with grad school and so very soon I can get back to having fun!!
