Let's "Taco" About It! New Driver in the Fam

The July Issue at Paper Issues is all about talking or Tacos...and all things in between!  "Let's Taco 'bout It" is the theme.  I went with using a speech bubble and lots of expressions I experienced having my oldest start driving!

I  love the new Stitch Happy sewing machine and put it to work sewing strips of paper horizontally to play off of the driving theme and create roads (Check out the stones Doodlebug paper for dirt roads!) like the one Ethan is driving on to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

I used a mix of Simple Stories #Whatever paper collection, Emoji and Doodlebug Design Dragon Tales papers. I love the Simple Stories small word strips that come in their 4x6 sticker sets. The Doodlebug Dragon Tales sticker sheets have fun words, stars, and speech bubbles.

I love the Doodlebug clouds paper at the top.  The overlapping clouds are such a fun print for an outdoor adventure.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
We can't wait to see how you use this new issue theme for July.
Play along and post your project on the Paper Issues Friends & Fans group on Facebook.
If you have boys or need to document your teenager driving, check out the supplies I linked above!

Doodlebug: Fairy Tales

Today on the Paper Issues blog it is all about the magical world of rainbows, unicorns, knights, and dragons.  Doodlebug hit the spot with all of these great new lines for kids, celebrating, and so much more.

Grab the rainbow cut file from the free files section of the store.  I added the extra stripe to the rainbow to add the purple.  I just copied the rainbow and used the knife tool on the Silhouette to cut the bottom stripe off of the extra copy and welded it onto the rainbow.  I needed the ROY G BIV bliss to make this rainbow complete!  The rainbow scallop border sticker was too adorable and had to be paired with the striped rainbow ribbons border paper and rainbow striped stickers!

So in love the cardstock stickers that Doodlebug has with all of their collections.
I used foam adhesive behind some of the stickers to pop them up on the layout.
The Doodlebug clouds are so stinking cute.  I need more!

The enamel shapes are fun to scatter throughout the design.  I love the sweet hearts in all of the colors!

Pinspire Me October

We are super spooked and loving this new fun mood board from Paper Issues Pinspire Me on the blog!  Check out this amazing board:

I was inspired by the super crazy eye balls, cobweb, and bat.  I grabbed Doodlebug's Boos & Brews from the Paper Issues store and had fun layering Trick or Treak papers from Bella Blvd from my stash along with a new paper from Bella's Spooktacular collection.
I love how this picture of my daughter last Halloween looks with the fun Halloween bits.  The enamel spiders and eyes from Doodlebug are a must!  I love the way they shine and have such a playful spin on this page about my glasses wearing girl!
I was inspired by fellow PI team member, Kathy Skou, and her Doodlebug layout here.  I loved her stitched border and that led me to the multiple stitching lines for the webs.  I love the inked wood veneer bats that are in this lower corner with the magic potion.
I hope you are able to get out your Halloween, outdoors, or get inspired by the beautiful colors in the mood board.  Be PInspired with us and add your projects to our Facebook group.  As always, shop your heart out and save 20%:

Paper Issues:Spotight on Doodlebug Design

Welcome!  Today on the Paper Issues blog, we are showcasing the newest collections from Doodlebug Design in the Paper Issues store.  I chose to focus on Fun in the Sun for this project.  I love the beachy vibe from this striped paper!

For the title, Life is Good in Summer, I wanted it to be anchored at the bottom of the page.  I added white gesso all around the photo area and around the word summer.  Next, I used the packaging technique and aqua watercolors/blue gelatos to add the drops of water and splashing effect around the page.  The cut apart section, "Life is Good" is from this awesome paper, perfect for card making as well!  I added Doodlebug stickers to the Summer cut file from The Cut Shoppe.  These are the Open Letters alphabet cut file set.

I added the Doodlebug Fun in the Sun stickers in groups around the page and messy threads.  To add more blue to the white gesso area, I stamped hearts from the Amy Tangerine's Oh Happy Life roller stamp.  I loved these pictures of the two cousins jumping in over and over on a hot July day at the lake!  I hope you are still documenting all of your summer adventures!
As always, check out the Paper Issues blog and follow up with a look at the store.  If you HAVE to have new paper pretties in your stash and haven't ordered from Paper Issues, try the store out!  I promise you will love unwrapping your extra fancy Paper Issues paper goods.  If you'd like to save 20% in the store use my code: Stacie
